Customer service or even a technical support (still same with the former) is a very challenging , stressful job as it demands for the satisfaction of the customers and meeting the expectation of the client. Not to mention the number of hours you have to work hearing all those complains and some costumers swear, throw bad hurtful words to you. Viewing this challenge can either be negative or positively. Looking in the scenario, you are there because you are chosen since you have the ability to help the costumers. Whenever you are helping people resolved their concerns is a wonderful, fulfilling feeling. One big motivation of course with those working in a call center industry is the compensation it offers! Time management is also crucial in this task you have to prioritize your time for rest, work and family. Its up to you on how you are viewing this kind of job I say, its all up to you now on how you would deal with these challenges. Congratulations to you and wish you all the best !

Hi, I used to work in call centre before and I love that jobs too. I worked in bank's call centre with 2 different products. My first call centre job was handling banking and home loan products and I was there for 6 months contract. After that, I got another call centre job at another bank and this time I was put under credit card department. Both of them provided almost one month training before putting in the real work environment and I was pretty nervous when I first took up first customer calls. As time pastby, I has get used to it and slowly I love this job. Although it can be quite stressful, but I learnt alot from there. I got chance to learn and touch up my communication skills, same time I learnt how to interact with different level of people. Very good opportunity to brush up my communication skills and the way I am handling tough situation. The most important is always be firm and stay calm when taking any calls. Some customers can be very demanding and unreasonable, but we have to be patience to handle their enquiries and never sound unhappy to them,be it, being scolded by them.

I am also in the same company you were working with now. I will start on the 22nd of this month. I have worked for that company before then just resigned for some reason and that was also posted here in one of my discussions. I will get back there again on the said date. I love being a customer service representative because I really love helping people. Aside from I really love to talk to them either business centric or some current issues to build my rapport with them I also love the feeling of being able to help them out regarding their concerns. You may not be able to receive good calls within your shift but this would be your greatest challenge on how you will handle difficult and upset customers. If you were able to help them out and it turned out to be a nice call afterwards then you will feel motivated and enthusiastic to take another call. But do not forget to post some notes on the account after that call coz i'm sure you will get overwhelmed by it. There would be lots of pressure around you but you will have to get used to it somehow as time goes by. Good luck with the product training.

I've been in a call center for 4 years but I can't really say that I like being a call center agent to be honest, this is the only job I know to have a food on our table. You said you're new to a call center, I'm sure you won't like it when you're on the floor, but anyway, good luck to your product training.
