Congratulations to the winners, better luck in whatever comes next in your life to the wons who didn't win.
To the encumbents who now find themselves "lame ducks", I hope you enjoy your life as a private citizen, unexempted from the laws you passed for the rest of us. I hope your adjustment to life outside the beltway is swift and relatively painless.
To the Freshmen, you rode in on an anti-incumbent wave. Never forget that you will now be the encumbent. The wave of votes that brought you in can just as easily deprive you of a second term.
To the who won re-election, my opinion is that everyone in the same elected position more than 10 years is a menace to society. Since we're stuck with you, try to prove me wrong!

I'd fully intended to post off and on while watching the returns but I'm afraid I became glued to my TV and was afraid I'd miss something. It was certainly an interesting night, but then we knew it would be.
Forgive me if I don't echo your congratulations to some of the winners, particularly those in my own state, because I'm not very happy right now! History here shows that if the Republicans that won in PA go too far right, they won't last long! that's just how it goes here.
It was certainly an interesting night and an interesting election. We won't even know all the results for several weeks. It will REALLY be interesting to see how these new lawmakers actually govern. To be perfectly honest, I'm not feeling at all encouraged.

I'm willing to congratulate jobs well done, even if I don't support the winners. It's kind of like the "good game" high fives at the end of the ball game.
But I also included warnings and cautions to both those I do agree with and those I don't.
For too long we have let our elected officials count on us having short memories. Well, if the current trends continue, we have forgotten how to forget.
I'm feeling VERY encouraged, but not to the point where I feel the job is done... it will never be "done". You and I are some of the reasons it won't be "done". While we both want what is best for the US, we have far different definitions of "what is best".
