The voting didn't seem as private to me as it has in the past.

Before, we walked into a booth and closed the curtain behind us. Now, we are at these metal things that people can see over. I liked my voting private. How was voting where you were?

Similar to yours. We went back to paper ballots a few years ago because some thought the electronic voting method machines were to subject to fraud. The problem with paper is that it takes so long. Also were I voted the "booth" was too high to be comfortable with a chair and made my back ache when standing since it took so long with all the choices for judges and bonds and stuff in addition to the usual political offices.

We had to stand up and I had to bend way over (I'm 5 foot 3, but they tried to make them for little people and people in wheel chairs as well). We didn't have very many people to vote for, thank goodness and only one propostion. 8 dots and/ or write-ins and you were done!

Hi,dear writersedge, I do not have any experiences like this ,but I do believe that this should be something as private. Several days ago,I went to America embassy in shenyang city which is the city my university located.I have learnt that the voting in America is like what you have said "walked into a booth and closed the curtain". I do not know if it is changed now ....Hope you everything goes well. Molly:)

Yes, it just changed this year. But it depended on where you were. In old my home town, they kept people away from where you filled in the dots. But in my new one, people were running around and veryh close to the areas that are only slightly protected from view.

Mine was very private, I did the absentee ballot because I knew I couldn't get a ride. Actually where I live is where I first starting voting and it has always had the open booth with just a small divider, but usually my husband was with me on the other side, so I just had to worry about one side..Though I am in a small enough community, I doubt anyone was interested in who I was voting for..lol

I liked the privacy of what we did before. Now the booths are too open. Glad you could do absentee ballot. Take care.
