Sometimes I listen to music while writing articles. Sometimes I don't. It depends a lot on my mood and the kind of music. But usually if the music is soft and mild, I generally do not mind it. But if it is loud and blaring then most of the time I do not prefer it while doing something.
Cheers!
Ram

Since the eighties I have been a heavy metal fan but I've learned that, that kind of music isn't very productive for me when I begin writing. Soft rock can now be heard drifting from my office when I'm trying to work and concentrate.

When I am writing for a class paper, it has to be completely silent..But when I am writing for fun or creative writing, then I crank up the music, it inspires me and puts in the my characters POV...:)

Listening to music never interfered with my train of thought while writing. I might even get inspiration from it instead.1 person likes this

Well If we think about it some of the greatest writers of all time are song writers, I guess it is only natural for us to be influenced by them. Some songs make absolutely no sense to me while others are wonderfully woven together works of art.

Im always listening to musics while writing. It helps in m yway of thinking. And some of the lyrics of the music I have listened to are added in my article or any way of writing. It helps a lot if you are writing a poem or something related to poem. Just a mix of thoughts and lyrics that would be fun. :)

Hey thanks for taking the time to comment. When I do research for an article I usually listen to music but when I begin writing the article I generally turn it down until I'm finished.

I think I tend to write better when I have my music on. It helps me not get bored of writing.

I have been writing all day today and I have turned mine off for a while. I must be getting tired. Have a great day or night.

Listening to the music while writing only disturbs me. I can't get concentrated if there are noisy objects around me. A music distracts my attention and makes my writing ineffective.
If there is music on, I start to listen to the words of songs and analyze them in my mind.
It might be that only very silent classical music could help me a bit while writing. And also, just in cases, when writing something easy, which doesn't demand big efforts and is not serious like, for instance, commenting here in Mylot.
Something, when tired of writing, I use to take my guitar and play something by myself. It's a really nice method how to take a rest. But then, after have played a bit - let's "turn on" the silence. :)

Sometimes, I do listen to music while I'm writing. It doesn't really happen very often, but it does still happen. I think that it's mainly because I prefer watching something while I'm writing or something. Once in a while though, i still get into the mood of listening to some music while I'm writing.

I have trouble watching TV while trying to write. All of a sudden I realize that the show I was watching is over and I haven't written a thing lol.

I most definitely do!!
Lately it's been Rob Thomas & MB20 songs and videos playing consistently as I write... They seem to help my words flow, so I'm more than happy to go along with it :P

Listening to music inpires me more when I am writing. There are so many "stories" behind each and every line in a song so it enables me to write with variety of ideas. It brings out my every emotion to every situation I am putting my self. I am a music lover so I guess I love music and writing about it too. ^_^

It depends there are many times that I am so into writing my articles or stories that I don't seem to mind, in fact I forgot that I had the radio on until I finished writing. There are times when I can't write if I have the radio/music on. I think it depends on my mood or is just something weird. I guess concentration is the key.
