For me the fastest would be a day for a 500 pages book. I will normally finish it under 8 hours. I will not do any other things except READ...
But sometimes if I'm too lazy I read a book for a week or two. That is when I don't really have time reading just plain lazy...
How about you guys? How long do you normally finish a book? Does it take you very long before you can finish one? How many books do you normally finish say in a month..

I like reading, but only occasionally. It's not easy for me to find a book that interest me because my preference changes over time. When i chance upon the right kind of book, i will be sure to finish it fast, if possible, on the same day. I don't want to lose the momentum of following the sequence in the book and so i will be addicted. Under 8 hours is way too fast for me, i think i might need at least 1 - 11/2 days.

My typical style is to read about one book a week because the majority of the time that I spend reading is right before I fall asleep. However, when I get a hold of a really good book, I will put all other things aside and will sit there and read through the entire day so that I will be able to read the entire book in the period of just a few short hours. That is the way that I've always done it for almost as long as I can remember.

I can usually finish a book in about a week or two, it depends on how much I like the book though. If I enjoy the book a lot, I'll usually finish it pretty quick, if I get bored I usually don't get it done and just take it back to the library.

If I'm reading a really gripping novel, I read 100 pages an hour. I found this out in university when our prof told us this book was so good we wouldn't be able to put it down and we should time ourselves. Since then, I've paid more attention to my reading speed.
I have always been a freakishly fast reader. When I was 7 years old I read Charlotte's Web cover to cover in under 3 hours. My mom was upset, because she had got the book for me to keep me quiet during a car trip, and I finished it before the car trip even started!
When I was in middle school, I would finish a Stephen King or Dean Koontz novel in two days. I also read all of the Dune novels that were out at that time, and they took me about 2-3 days as well. I would read on the bus, in between classes, and in class when I had finished my work.

I think it depends on the book, how interesting it is, if it is very interesting then I ll finish it before doing any thing, Normally I take two days to finish a book because only reading doesnot give me satisfaction, I want to be involved in the book and it takes time to understand...
Any way best thing is this that I like reading...:)

It depends. Usually, it takes me one week to finish a 500-page book.
Because I read them at night, before I'm going to bed. I always enjoy reading books before asleep.
So, I may read four books in a month, but it also depends on what kinds of books I read. Months ago, I read a very long novel, and it cost me nearly a month to finish reading it.

It would normally take about a week to finish reading a book, because I can be with the book only in the evenings after I get back home from work. And, some days, I get back home very late. During my university days, I would finish a book in one or two days. That's a thing of the past now.

Well if I have a good selection of books and the time, I can read a 200-250 page book a day. But I've never had that many books in a month and now that I taking classes, I don't have the time. I am trying to read a book now my neighbor gave me that she said she read in one day, but I am just too busy now..:(

I can finish a book in a day or two but it depends on how interesting in it. When I get hooked in the story, I could forget eating or doing other things. Like you I just want to read the book all day and don't want to be bothered.
