Get your popcorn and sit back from the show....it is rumored that Ron Paul is going to chair the Monetary Policy Subcomittee. We all know how Ron Paul feels about Bernanke and our current monetary practices. This should be good. To say fireworks are going to fly I think will be an understatement. Here is to hoping it is all covered LIVE on C-Span. http://www.zerohedge.com/article/ron-paul-chair-monetary-policy-subcommittee What do you think about it? Will you watch?

First off if it is on CSPAN than NO because CSPAN is much like listening to Ben Stein, the minute you turn it on you get sleepy. However, if you are ever having problems sleeping, this will fix you in a matter of minutes. It would be very interesting to see how they would deal with each other, especially because Bernanke wants more stimulus, and we all know that won't happen. I like Ron Paul, but not all of his ideas make sense, and I hope that he doesn't go over board like he is known to do.

Oh I have seen some really great moments on CSpan. True...it can be boring sometimes. But there have been some lively moments. I think Ron Paul is exactly the right person to Chair this committee. We need more transparency and more responsible actions from Beranke. Which is something Paul will definately be pushing for. Maybe he can actually get it audited finally. He has been pushing for that for a long time and is WAY over due. Shouldn't we know exactly where the money is, where it is going and why? Seems like a smart idea to me. What is wrong with Ben Stein...he is actually a VERY smart man with some really GREAT ideas. Sure is not "exciting"...but I would rather have Stein than Jerry Springer when it comes to my government.

I wonder how long he will have this seat once he starts to ask question about things that republicans don't want out in the public (like the Billions sent to Iraq during the first Bush presidency, that no one has ever explained). I am sure once he starts down that road it will be very hard to get him off of it. Which I what I like but the GOP sure won't. It is believed by some conspiracy theorist that the FED has been the money man for many of our national secrets (like the Iran payments), so auditing them may much harder than anyone knows. I think that we should know more about the FED, but it may be a case of buyers remorse once we do. I like Ben Stein, just not is politics, he is a good actor, and his voice is everywhere. But, I think he needs to stick to the cartoons, and acting because his politics are way to far to the right for me. I'm not a big Jerry fan, but he was mayor of right wing Cincinnati, so explain that one to me.

It is one the mysteries of the world...I don't think anyone can explain that one. As for Ron Paul...I hope he DOES expose all the BS reguardless of party and changes how things are done. That is what he has been pushing to get for a long time and this position would make it perfect for him to really start making a difference.

Yeah it will have some serious fireworks as well Ron Paul doesn't let his own party push him around as well he stands by his principles and that is what the people he represents want a man who stands by what he believes. I think he got like 70%+ of the vote. So yeah his people love him and well I like him to as he is a libertarian and one of the few to be in office for a really long time.

Ron has been known to take him to task on more than one occassion. He was not even the chairman of the committee then...if he does get the chair now...oh it is going to be interesting. He will have the power to REALLY take him on and about time someone did. Ron does not let anyone push him around. He has his beliefs and he stands by them. He is one of the few in washingtong that is not for sale and does an honest job. He is exactly the right man for the job.

It should be interesting but the question is, what's in it politically for the Republicans? If the prize isn't worth it to them, nothing will be done on this issue. Annie

how about fixing the federal reserve and banking? Paul is just the guy to do it.

Paul can't do much by himself, is what I'm saying, and if it doesn't help the rest of the GOP win in 2012 they're not going to budge on anything. They want things to stay as bad as they are or get worse, if they can manage to spin it to be the Obama Administration's fault, which they've gotten pretty good at. Annie

I'm hoping Ron Paul does get the Chair. I may have to pass on the popcorn...I promised myself I'm going on a diet, but the show should be interesting. I'm hoping we start to get the Fed (and Fannie and Freddie and...) under control soon.

Good Luck on the diet...I am trying to loose a few pounds myself so I should probly pass on the popcorn too. Paul is the senior member of the subcomittee now so he should get it. WHich puts him in a position to really shake things up.
