It's kind of eye opening to thnk I had to give up my car my phone and tv just to make ends meet. Yet it's not too hard to get along without them.

i so want to give you a pat on the back because you have obviously faced your worst fears and given up things that i would feel were life changing and yet you have come out the other side living a more simple life but acknowledging the changes aren't as bad as expected. your honesty will give many people hope in this time of resession. thankyou.

I will take that.. God is good.. I have two working feet and lots of lovely friends who are willing to go the extra mile..They say if you are a good friend you will have good friends.. I don't see it as bad thing; you are so right. Some people feel that we need all the extras to be happy; but really happiness is not in things its in the heart and comes from God.

Well said! I like the phrase I have 2 working feet and lots of friends who are willing to go an extra mile. I do not own a car as I can't afford one. I need to do lots of walking or either on public transport. I even over-heard people talk behind my back :"What? Can't afford a car? Have to walk and take public transport? She is poor..." Similarly, I use the same phrase to motivate myself.

So sorry to hear your predicament. However, sometimes this is a way to get us in touch with reality. We usually take things for granted due to habit and things like this helps wake us up. I read your other replies and am glad that you are starting to recover (financially that is). Thanks for sharing.

I think I never take anything for granted as I have become use to things in life either be little or a lot. Like St. Paul I can truly stay " i have learned to do with plenty and with little"

Yes, there are many times in today's day and age where people have to make changes and do without some things just to make ends meet. It would be nice if things did not have to be this way, and life would be a lot easier, but lately it takes a couple of people working, and sometimes even extra things coming in a long the way to help make the payments. So you continue to do the Best you can do and hope for the Best in between.

Sorry to hear about this, it must be one of the worst things and I know it's for the better but I imagine it feels very awkward. Least at the end of the day, eventually you can buy these things back and I know this isn't probably what you want to hear but you're floating instead of doing nothing about it. Hope you get back on your feet.

Yes I am floating.. and it's better to give up something that will pull me down .. no matter how nice it may look. I thank you Joey..God is my life saver and I am holding on to Him.

It is absolutely a very hard thing to deal with. However as time goes on we have no choice but to get use no longer owning them. It is unfortunate but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone and will find that many of us are also in the same boat. Good Luck to you and I hope things better for you soon.

No mattter what I have gone through ..and believe me.. losing a car is not the worst.. I have always known I am not alone..I know there there is God above. and He is guiding this soul of mine.. and He is watching over all.. He only allows things ..if they will , in the end, draw us closer to Him..It's heartrending ..but I have been through worse..Thank you for stopping by and voicing support.. I truly appreciate it.
