LAN, I meant was Local Area Network by using cat 5E utp cable connected to network adaptor or by usb or built-in wireless adaptor.

Wireless can also be secured with encryption. But security of any kind can be hacked by the most skillful hackers. Basic security for encryption can help prevent some unwanted tapping of your wireless connections.

I prefer Wireless. My internet connection is faster at home with wireless than it is at work with LAN.

You office network could be using old cables or your company internet bandwidth is slower than your home bandwidth. My country also the same. Home internet is faster and cheaper than business internet.
