There is a man who owns some land, he wants to build a gun shop there. It is zoned for commercial, is a great location, and legally there is nothing saying he shouldn't be able to.
However, firearmophobia has reared its ugly head. Even though they have no legal excuse to stop it, people are up in arms about the plans for this shop.
Why?
Because it's across the street from a school.
There are three bars by this school, but no one seems to mind. However, when it comes to guns, some people turn off their brains and dive right into lunacy.
The man is breaking no laws, is perfectly willing to comply with the gun laws in effect, the only people who don't seem to respect the laws are those trying to keep him from opening the shop.

It's all part of that belief some have that a bunch of metal, melted down and formed in to a particular shape, then placed in the hand of a human being has the magical power to turn that otherwise harmless human being in to a maniacal killer. Strangely enough though, these same people also don't seem to believe that grain/grapes/hops fermented and distilled, placed in to a bottle and then poured in to that same harmless human being, have the power to turn said human being in to a maniacal killer.
