I was always taught that everything has it's place.

I have always lived by this rule. When I use something I put it back. I see childrens toys scattered over yards as we drive down the road and I wonder what has happened to the younger generation. As much money as we as parents spend on toys and other things for our children why don't we teach our children to put things up. I seen this toy that must have cost the childs parents a lot of money so why don't they teach them to put things away. How was you taught? Did you learn early to take care of what you have? Do you teach your children the facts of life and how much things cost?

Hi. free_man. I was always taught to clean behind myself. It also just came naturally. My grandmother and aunt's cleanliness rubbed off on me. That is how I started to clean up behind myself. When I was a child, I have learned to take care of my toys and anything that was mines. I did not believe in tearing up things that has been given to me. I am the same way now as an adult too. I try to take care of many things that I have now. They all are in good condition too. I also teach my children the same thing too. I tell them that they should take care of their toys and not throw them around or tear them up. My kids usually do this from time to time and I don't like it. It is because when I was younger, I was so grateful for any toy that I was able to have, I could not see myself ruining the little bit that I had to play with. I made sure that I kept all of my toys into good condition. I constantly tell my kids to take care of their toys because I paid money for it. Money that I could have put on something else that they may need instead. If I had a house, I would not let my kids just leave their toys all about. I will make sure that their toys are put up in the proper place. That is exactly how toys are stolen from our yard. Around this neighborhood, I have seen children leave their toys and bikes outside. It is out in the open where someone can just steal it. I know that we live in trailers, but they could at least keep their bikes on their back porch or on the side of their trailer. I know that it is hard, but I would never leave my children's toys or bikes in someone else yard. That is what has happened to me recently. The way that I see it, if someone don't want others to touch their children's toys or bikes, then they should keep them in their own yard and not in mines.

Hi Cream. Good for you. I hate those that can't keep up with their own stuff and then blame others for their loss. You are a good mother my friend. Hope you have a great day.
