Having high salary in a job makes us happy because because we can buy things we want. Such as buy a new house and lot,new car, new appliances and everything we want in life. There's no doubt people now a days look for job which offer high compensation rather than high position with just low salary. Just for example in our country Physician have took up nursing course because they want to work in outside countries as nurse and gain higher compensation compared to what they get here as a physician. So it just means they don't mind whatever position they have as long as they are compensated well they are willing to do everything.Well we can't blame them, they jut want to give their family a decent life where they an buy all things they want. Now I just want to ask you What's your viewpoint regarding this issue? Which would you prefer, having high salary or high position? Why?

I would choose the higher rank. I notice everyone is thinking only about money. I am as well. Your salary is defined as the money you are paid for doing your job. There are some cases where people with less rank get higher salaries that the higher-ups in a company. However, when you have rank in a company, you are considered to be an invaluable asset. Therefore, even if your salary might be a little less that your subordinates, the company provides you with the rest. The company pays for your living expenses, travel, medical care, and rent in some cases where you are asked to work in a different country. The company give you 'allowances' that are not calculated into your salary. The higher paid worker with less rank would have to take out of his salary to provide these things for himself and his family, thus having less money than he began with. The higher ranking person can keep his salary to do what he wants, and let the company take care of the rest.

Being in a high rank position means more responsibilities thus need salary commensurate the qualities of a designated person. For some career oriented people, they got satisfaction if they achieve the executive positions, but in the current status of our economy, most preferred to have high salary. It depends on what will give satisfaction to a person.

I had experienced tough life finding a job and staying on as well because of the the rank and people bullied me. Now I am going after the high salary regardless the position i.e. I am working in a call center now which offers higher salary rather than a secretary position which offers only USD300 a month.

The practicality of life is survival. So that means, we need monetary compensation than a rank. However, there are people who are more concerned of their position which is a plus in the society despite their low salary they received. It's where you find more valuable and what really matters to you that counts more..

Every body wants to have more money so they can purchase comforts for their life and their family, so I think I ll prefer for high salary than rank. But it is common that with high rank you ll get high salary, if the physician of your country are going abroad as nurses then it is not due to rank but it is due or GNP or GDP of a certain country, if they can go as physician then they ll get high salary. So I think if I am going for higher rank in my country this mean I ll get higher salary from all my lower ranks, it is always different from country to country...:)

Personally, I think I'd go for the high salary. I mean, what is the rank for if someone lower than your position actually gets paid more? Actually, here in our country and other countries, higher ranks mean higher salaries. Your example, though, was an example of someone going abroad to make more money. Anyways, a doctor here would always have higher salaries than nurses here. And doctors in US would always have the same situation as here regarding salary difference with their nurses. So, the rank and salary difference comes when comparing two different countries or companies. Anyways, I think most of us (if not all) would choose to have higher salary. We need money than "rank". We can't buy anything we need, even the simplest thing, with rank. And the salary goes with the rank too. The higher your rank is in a given company or country, the higher salary you would have. That's what promotions are for, right?

to be honest with you, i don't really mind whatever position or salary i get as long as it is sufficient for me and my family to live a decent life... i never want to be a rich person or live a luxurious life... sufficient is enough for me... and i believe that God will provide me with all i need according to His mercy and power... i had learn the hard way that greed can kill and harm me and i don't want to repeat the same mistake again... take care and have a nice day...

i refer to have a high salary in comparison with hig position on office. Because with the high salary you can meet all the needs in your life, but if high position in office, you only get a good view from your environment aboutyour high position in your office, but you can't necessarily meets the needs of your life.

hello, Practically i would chose having high salary. Of course who doesn't want to be in a higher position then?,i like it too. But the reality needs me to chose the practical one. I need to give my kids a better future than thinking of myself in a higher position with low salary. And that explain everything. have a great Sunday

Well it depends. Here in our country, I'll probably choose High salary than having a high position in a company or something. But in other country, I'll prefer having high position. For me, having a high position in your work will definitely means that you'll be receiving also a high salary. In our country, our economy is low, so that means that you'll not expect a high position because even if you're working for a high position in your company, most of them are not being paid that much compared to other countries.

For me ill go to the high salary.Thats why were working harder now a days to get paid more. As long you are happy with the job and you earn respect from others. The most important is you do your job well and the promotions will just follow.
