My father is asking me if setting up a restaurant is risky. He wants me to decide if he's going to build a new idea for a restaurant or just buy a frachise. Which do you think is more easier and more profitable?

It would be easier to set up a franchise than a brand new one but it depends if you want to make it original or just like others... because franchises commonly have to be in keeping with the way it had always been and just take over most of the ownership and roles. If you made your own you can design it how you want and make it to your liking. You will get profit either way, but probably more with your own place that you designed... but it will mean lots of time and effort to get to where you makes lots of profit but with a franchise you will get profit near enough as you open the restaurant as it will already have reputation.

hi,This is the only business which is really risky, because it always depend on the TASTE,even though initially you can manage tasty food with the help of cooks, there is no guarantee that those cooks will made food that much tasty all the year and there is every chance of shifting/resigning staff is headache for owners...We invest, but the business is not our control.

I agree with whoever said that if you do not know anything about it, it is always risky. And I think it is much more risky if you do not really know a lot about food and cooking, so I would have to know more about you guys in order to be able to answer, to be honest.

Thanks. My dad loves cooking. He is the one in charge in cooking the menu if ever we have our reunion and my relatives loves it so much. However, it's too fine dining.
