Question About Changing The Clocks On An iPod Touch...

Canada

Hi All. I bought my iPod in April of this year, so changing the clock was not an issue. I can not remember if I had to actually set the clock, or if it was done autmoatically on line, like my cellphone. Tonight we have to turn the clock back an hour. My question is this. Do I have to do it myself, or will my iPod do it automatically, if I leave it connected to the wireless internet in my apartment? I don't want todo it myself, and end up going back two hours, when it does it again. LOL Thnaks!

Of course I don't have an answer for you since I don't own one...hopefully someone does. I know years ago my cell phone didn't change until someone called or I called someone. This cell phone seems to change on it's own...at least as I recall it does. And I hope so too since I have my alarms set on it to get up in the morning. Marsha

I am pretty sure that the phone will do it itself. It automatically connects to the wireless network and it should be updated from there. That's what I'm thinking anyway!

Well,I would think by now you have gotten your answer and your iPod is set for the correct time. I would assume that it set it itself automatically when it was connected to the internet . So tell me how did it turn out ?

I don't know for sure, but my Mac changed the time itself overnight, so your iPod probably will too.

danishcanadian my son says it should do it automatically as his cellphone does so I would not set it myself. the odd thing is my old desk top computer was set to do it last week as thats when it was to be set back last year so I had to manually put it ahead again an hour then last night had to put it back an hour. I am not sure how to reset it either so until I learn how it must be done manually. my son swears that the ipod should do just like his cell phone. hope so.

I believe you wouldn't need to leave it connected, as I think there's a setting which willow certain applications to access the internet as and when needed. My phone automatically updates itself, as the clock settings as my permission to access the wap/internet for that and I think it will be the same for you. By now I guess you would know for sure, although manually shouldn't be a issue really if it doesn't automatically do it. If you was to go back an hour, I don't think it would go back another hour as it should know that the time is correct. Happy Mylotting, ~Joey

It will change as mine did. Now, if it hasn't changed, then just turn the ipod on, or hook it up to your computer and it should change on its own without you having to change it yourself. I have never had to change any of electronics, at all, as they change on their own. Take care, and have a very good day.
