Would you make those agreements with those service companies?

Those technological service companies, such as cable, satellite, even internet service companies would like you to make an agreement with them, in return they would like giving you some sort of discount deal for a certain period of time. Is that beneficial to your wallet when unexpected incidents might occur. Think about it. A friend of mine recently sign up with Clearwire, and sign this so called "agreement", actually contract I prefer the term. He has to stay with them for certain period of time. When there is flood coming to his house, his house wasn't inhabitable, and he has to rent a house temporarily, and he has to suspend his clearwire internet service for while. The company then has to pull out the contract, and agree to suspend the service for him temporarily, but he still has to pay $5.00 per month. So, I guess when you sign up a service, it is best not to have an agreement shackle on your feet. It is better shop around and seeking for no contract deal. Anyway, there is always competition out there.
