Well i've read a lot about it. I started by watching someone else playing a final fantasy in the ps1, but i couldn't afford a ps1 so i started dreaming about the day i could buy my own ps1. So that day never came, i got a ps2 instead =P, and i've been reading a lot about where to start in final fantasy games. I already got final fantasy X for ps2 don´t know if i should start there. Also is it true that every final fantasy is like a new story? so i'm not missing anything?. Like kindom heart if i start playing kh2 there is a lot stuff going on and if you haven't played kh1 and kh chain of memories well you won't enjoy it that much. So i want to hear you people where should every new gamer should start. I wen't and played final fantasy 1 on nintento and omg i got a litte carried away but the repetitive action just killed me.....

I'd recommend starting with the retro ones first, you tried FFI and yeah it's repetitive and you'll find that FFII would be similar. But I believe the games picks up from there, so you should probably start with FFIV or fan favorite FFVI. So that you can at least see how the games evolved into what they are now. My personal favorites are FFX and FFVII.

Which one to start with really depends. If you are already used to old school RPGs starting from the original Final Fantasy is probably best, however if your not used to old RPGs the original may be kind of hard for you. More modern gamers should either start from one of the remakes of the original (which are all significantly easier) or from one of the 3d ones. Out of the 3d Final Fantasy games I'd most recommend Final Fantasy VII because of it's excellent story, but VIII and IX are also both excellent (I haven't played anything past IX so I don't know about those).

It actually doesn't really matter which Final Fantasy you start with since they are all pretty much stand alone games. The only actual sequel is Final Fantasy X-2 which is the sequel to X. I can't really tell you which game to start with since every game is unique and interesting in their own way. It all depends on whether you're into the older style or not. But since you already have Final Fantasy X I say you should play it. It's a really good game.

Well I think you are a new to the rpg scene. If thats the case then go with FF7 you cannot play it with your ps2 but there are PC emulators out there. But if you are really interested on the old school rpg, you should start with FF5 or FF6 this are really the ones that has multiple storylines.

It is true that every Final Fantasy game storyline is different. Only Final Fantasy X haves a sequel, which is Final Fantasy X-2. Final Fantasy X is a great game to start with since it's one of the best Final Fantasy games with an awesome storyline, gameplay, and graphics. If you like and want to keep playing Final Fantasy, try finding Final Fantasy 7, 8, & 9 for the Playstation One. Also get Final Fantasy 12 for the PS2. Final Fantasy 12 has a great gameplay, but the story is ok.

Haha, actually Final Fantasy X is a nice place to start! The graphics are beautiful and the storyline is very easy. From there you could progress to VIII and then to IX and then to III and then to VII because by then I am sure you will be in love and you won't care that the graphics will get awful, haha. But the plots get better! None of the Final Fantasies are sequels to one another with the exception of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. However, after X, I have not played them... to me it seems that the graphics are getting more beautiful and the storylines are beginning to be awful :/ BUT I still love FF.

Yea, as you said. Every final fantasy has its own story. Its not a trilogy of every final fantasy. You pick the right choice. You can play any final fantasy. You can start at XI or X or IX. Well i hope it would help.
