What time does your little one go to bed?

November 9, 2010 8:56am CST
My son has naps during the day for between 20 minutes upto an hour. Then he tends to go to sleep at about 10:30ish, and he sleeps through until around 8am. So he does get alot of sleep. He tends to wake once at the most, and that is just for a nappy change. And even then he goes back to sleep pretty much straight away again. How does your little one sleep at night? And for how long?

hello vicky! i have my niece with me and she used to take a nap in afternoons for one to two hours. then she would sleep at night with me at 11pm. sometimes, when i am working here at mylot, she used to play around while i was typing in here, like right now, she can't sleep without me on her side. it's like i'm her mom. cause her mom is always at her workplace and hardly had time for her child.

yes,but she used to have no appetite when it comes to eating. she is more of sleeping than eating. or should i say, more of being hyper and loves to play specially when the lights are out at night. why is she like that? i wonder.

yes it is so good. as much as i love my son, i cant wait until he starts going to bed at around 7-8 o' clock. i used to go to bed at around 7:30pm until I was 14. I do think that having this routine is so important to children though

I agree with Vicky_lane 4987. Kids need and everyday routine. My kids go to bed at 8pm. That will give me and my husband a couple of hours to relax and spend time together before bed.

My little son don't usually take a nap during the day and he usually sleeps as late as we parents, but recently as the weather gets cold, he sleeps earlier, much earlier than he used to. This way he can get more sleep. To be exact, he goes to sleep at around nine and wakes up at after seven thirty.

my daughter , now 1 year and 4 months old is just so unpredictable when it comes to sleep, and she has a very irregular pattern of sleeping, it depends whether she is tired by just playing around or whether she still has some more things to explore. Usually she goes to sleep by 11 pm and also prefers a nap during the daytime. However, I have noticed that when there are guests overnight she will also stay up till 3 am which gives me a hard time :).

My 6 month old son always sleeps from 8pm upto 6:30 am usually but sometimes he sleeps upto 8am the most. But there are intervals when he woke up at night for him to drink his milk after which he goes back to sleep. The intervals usually evry 3hours.Then after taking his bath in the morning he is having his nap for two hours the most.

I prep my son for bedtime with a good story book which is around 8pm. It takes about an hour for him to wind down- he has lotsa pent up energy even at night (I wish I have this though). By 9pm, he's fast asleep and I'm back surfing online. I wake him up at 6am in time for school which starts at 7am. He's home by 10:30am and he has naps on afternoons between play time :)

We've never had much trouble with getting the kids to sleep, although some nights they can be a right pain. Jakes in bed usually on a school night by 9-10pm, we still allow Ellie to stay up with us but usually try to get her asleep by 11pm at the latest. It's nice when both Jake and Ellie are asleep, especially Ellie who is very demanding as you know. Still I miss reading them stories before bedtime due to the idiots behind us they have to settle for one in the living room which isn't the same nor as special in my opinion. Happy Mylotting,

Hi, When my son was young, before he reached 3 years old, he used to sleep around 10-11pm every night, Since he was not in school at that moment,so I just let him be and let him enjoy his night. But once he has reached his school time, He will go to bed at 10pm every night and wake up around 7.15am every morning. For afternoon, he will still go for nap for at least 2 hours. I do heard some of my friends' kids are not going for nap,but for my son,I encourage him to have a nap so that he won't feel sleepy and crancky when comes to dinner time. Getting enought sleep is good for kid's growth.

My children are quite a bit older than your little one, but I will still share the time that they go to bed. We've established that 10:00 pm is a good time for them to go to bed. Then my oldest, who will be eight next month gets up for school at 7:00 am, she is getting nine hours of sleep per night. My son is still at home with me during the day and he tends to wake up between 7:30 am and 9:00 am. He is four years old and doesn't typically take a nap during the day.

When my daughter was a baby she would sleep from 9pm till 9am hardly ever waking it was wonderful. She would take a 2 hour nap during the day. Now she is three no more naps as then she won't go to bed till 1030pm. Her bed time is 8-8:30pm and she sleeps till 6:40 am during the week and on the weekends usually not past 7 am. Now we are waiting for her to learn to sleep in during the weekends we are tired now. But on a whole she is a wonderful sleeper and always has been we know how lucky we are.

My 9mos old son take naps during the day for about an hour, twice. one in the morning and another in the afternoon. But before he goes to bed at around 9pm, he will have a 15min nap at around 6pm otherwise he will be fussy and moody if he missed this nap.
