Why Sunday has been named Sunday, why not Holiday or weekday or something like that?

Sunday is a day on which you can fully enjoy the sun instead of hectic weekdays. Sunday is when you get time for yourself.
That's why it has been named sunday

No clue....but in India they call it ravivaar....ravi meaning sun and vaar meaning day of the week....its called that because its a dedication to the Sun-God....maybe Sunday originated on similar lines...
