Which do you prefer, traveling by a road trip or by plane? I like the trains sometimes. And comparing a road trip to air plane, depending on the distances, some destinations are great with a road trip.

If I have the luxury of time, I will definitely take a road trip. But due to work, we can only take a leave for several days. So now, I haven't got the opportunity to do it. But if I can, I would imagine myself in awe while on a roadtrip. Imagine the countless photo opportunities while driving or taking a train or bus, the interactions you will have with different kinds of people and the unplanned stop overs in some unexpected place that may bring memorable experiences or whatever. I can't wait to have one.

I prefer road trips. My dad's retired military, so we moved a lot and we always drove when we were moving. I didn't even go in a plane until I was 15. I prefer being able to see more while in a car. I also like feeling like I have some control, which I don't have in a plane or train. You can stop in a car, whenever you'd like.

Most of all I prefer to travel by train. I like to look out of the window during the daytime. Then in the night time I enjoy sleeping in a comfortable compartment. I am happy on a train for hours or days. I dream about one day taking a train all the way room Moscow to Beijing. The journey is around one week. I have to go on a plane to get to long haul destinations. I find it uncomfortable and cramped in an plane seat. However in 10 to 14 hours a plane can take to to a destination that is far away and more interesting than the ones I am able to travel to by train. This year I traveled by plane to Vancouver and last year I went by air to Cape Town. These are two places that are far from home and the only practical way to get to these from the UK is by plane. I like driving my own car for short journeys. I only take a bus if there isn't a train available. On it I can enjoy seeing the view out of the window. However the seats are close together and the lack of much legroom makes it quite uncomfortable. Sometimes a road has very picturesque views that is lovely to travel along, an example would be The Great Ocean Road in South Australia.

It depends for me too. I like road trips, but sometimes a plane ride is still the better option. We went to Cambodia from Thailand before, and we took an eight hour bus ride. It was a dusty road with nothing but rice fields on either side. It would have been kinda lovely if the road wasn't super bumpy, nor that it took four hours before a restroom break. I've been on numerous road trips too, with views to die for! It would really have to depend on the situation, but I love road trips and plane rides alike!
