What if your just a step away from what you want with your career, like you will be promoted as EVP, you have a very loving boyfriend, a stable career. Suddenly, you found out that you're also pregnant. And it says in your company's qualifications that only single ladies will be promoted. What will you do?

Let the Fair Labor Department know about it. That's against the law!

True! But that is just hypothetical.

It was a hypothetical question. But discrimination is protected by law. Too many companies found this out the hard way.

Indeed. There are companies who have this law. So sad.

hello joysanots, Wow that is a predicament. I not sure what I would pick. I would pick the child and safe career because this you will be home and you will not have travel as much if you were promoted there will lots more responsibilities and longer hours and could you handle being away from your child. You may think so now but when the baby here I think you will have a change of heart just my opinion. you will have to decide what is best for you and your family. Good luck on the baby and the job. Indeed! Big positions entails bigger responsibilities.

I would chose love. I wouldn't even want to work for a company that has such guidelines. I would have a right to have a good career and a family/love. If they made me chose, I'd pick the other.

Agree! I would also choose love. Specially if I am on my family way.

well, i know some company online need only single ladies. i think because when the ladies has off for their baby. the company will lose a employee. well, i think that is not good for us. today, man and woman are have equal about anthing. i think this company against the rules. i don't like that company!
