I have a three year old daughter and I run a home daycare. We are sitting at lunch the other day and I got up to start the dished. My daughter was saying something to me so I stopped the water and she says, "Mommy I am sorry about your stickers." I ask, "What stickers" at this point I am confused not sure where this is going. She says,"The 1,2,3 ones." Ok well in the kitchen we have a sliding glass door and on it I have some window clings I have the alphabet, numbers 1-10, shapes and some weather one that way the kids have something to look at. Well sure enough the number ones are gone all 10 of them so I ask her, "What did you do with them?" She answers "They were dirty." "ok they were dirty where did you put them?" "The were dirty mommy" "Ok that is fine where are they now?" "Well they were dirty" "I understand they were dirty where did you put them?" at this point she points to the kitchen trash can. Well I am not sure when she had done it or if they were in there and I am not digging for window clings that cost a dollar out of my kitchen trash it is messy in there. They are probably not even in the current bag as we fill a bag a day somehow and I am not sure when she did this. "are you mad mommy? am I in trouble?" This from my three year old, I was actually dumbfounded for a minute on what to say so I told her, "Thank you for telling me, I am upset that you did this and you need to not do it again." "ok mommy" and she continues to eat her lunch. I still can't figure out when she had time to do this, she would have had to pull the stool over so she could reach them. Sometimes you just have to laugh you never know what conversation you will have at lunch at my house. Have your children ever done something like this that you would have not noticed for a while unless they pointed it out to you?
