I have been visiting some leading bookstores in malls these past few days. I haven't read a good book in a while. I think the last time was 2 years ago, if I remembered it right, it was "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's one of my favorites. I know, poor me. I became too busy, I had no time to really sit on a couch and enjoy reading a good book. This time, I'm having a bit difficulty getting started again and finding a good material, though I do have time now to read. I like fiction books but I try to read those that are not too thick or too long because I may not be able to finish it. I haven't even read the Harry Potter series though I was able to watch all its movie versions. I was hesitant to read it because it's thick. Hehe. I like romance, thriller, mystery or adventure. I saw some interesting books the last time I went to a bookstore. Anyone who have read "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"? Is it worth it to buy and read? How about "Room" by Emma Donoghue? I saw this one on the internet. I don't know if it has already been published here in our country. What's a great book to read? Will you suggest a good one for me to read? =)

i really enjoyed reading the hunger games series. i liked it better than harry potter and twilight. i don't know if that's the kind of book that you like but i really loved it, i loved it so much i read every book twice. :) plus, they're not as long as harry potter so you can finish them for sure.

Hi. I haven't read the hunger games series. I'm more familiar with "The Mockingjay", I've seen the book in the stores but I didn't read the plot at the back. I don't know the other books included in the series. I'll just search it on the net. Hehe. Thanks. =)

I've read "The Alchemist" even before "Love in the Time of Cholera". It's also one of my favorite books. I haven't seen or heard "Catch-22" though. =)

I think that whether the book is great to read or not depend on your requirement. You can judge the book according to your requirement. If you want to success, you can read some books on how to success. If you want to earn much money, you can read some books on how to earn money.

I'm more interested in reading fiction books as of now than self-help books or whatever these kind of books are called. Thanks. =)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is indeed great, I highly recommend it! And if you like it, there are two more books in the same series, which makes it even better, then you are set for 3 books! I have no idea about the other books you mentioned though.

Thanks puccagirl. I'll definitely include it in my books-to-read list. I'll also try to have a peek first on those two other books. I haven't seen the other book I've mentioned earlier in the bookstores, maybe it was not yet published here. I saw some description of this book on the internet and it somehow interests me so I'm wondering if there's anyone who have read the book here. =)

I read the Bible at times. I used to read at least one passage every night when I was still in a Bible study group. I had a journal where I write the passages I've read and my reflections about all these readings. It's definitely the best for most people including myself. =)

If you love fiction, I'd recommend The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger; My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult; Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella (the one who wrote Confessions of a Shopaholic); novels by Nicholas Sparks such as The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Dear John and Nights in Rodanthe. I haven't read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but I think they're making it (or have made it) into a movie. If you really don't like reading thick books, why not try watching the movies first then if it interests you, buy the book so you have a clear view of what the whole story is about. I know it might sound weird but it makes me more interested with the novel if I've seen the movie adaptation. :) Anyways, happy reading! :)

Hi camposkat. I'm more interested with "My Sister's Keeper" among the books you've recommended. Well, we're quite the opposite. When I have already seen the movie, I don't read the book. Hehe. I get a bit lazy to read the book version thinking I already know the story. It's kind of a bad attitude though right?! Hehe. Thanks. =)
