What is Anchor Text

A big part of SEO is backlinks, which is basically all the sites that link to your site or blog or article or whatever it may be. The anchor text is the word or words or sentence those blogs use to link to you. Like if you have a blog called ajaykumarmeher but I link to it from my blog using the word ajay only, ajay would be the anchor text. If you Mom also links to you, but using a different word for the link such as ajay's blog, then ajay's blog is her anchor text. I hope you understand what I mean, I am really not good at explaining these things...
