I would say a really nice pictures of the grandkids. It may be a while since they have gotten one or just do a really special picture just for them. If your older may even a picture with Santa might bring back some great memories for them. If all the grand kids are all over the county getting everyone to send in current pics and getting them all framed nicely would be sweet.

get them a good walking stick, which will be useful for them. since it being a cold season get them a nice decorative blanket so that they can use it daily. merry christmas

This year for Christmas I am planning on giving both my mother and my mother-in-law a coffee table scrapbook of what the kids have done this year. I think that it is a wonderful gift idea for grandparents because of the fact that it is something that they can share with their friends when they are at their houses and it is also something that they can look through and see pictures of their grandchildren when the grandchildren aren't there.

Get them a nice comfortable casual clothes that they can use when they go out with family and friends. Another one is you can take them out and go visit their favorite restaurants.
