How much time do you spend getting dress?

I know that appearance is very important in life, but I am really surprised about the fact that some people just spend so much time getting dress when they are only going out to the neighborhood store. I take my time when I have a party or when I'm going to downtown. But just spending more than twenty minutes getting dress just to pick up the newspaper I can't believed. Please tell my your personal view about the topic.

I think it depends. For example, if I am just going to a friends house or even out with friends, I normally don't wear make up and will wear a tank top and jeans or a skirt or something. So it takes me maybe 5 minutes to get ready. I am really speedy about that, haha! I don't particularly care because I don't need to impress my friends. Heck, I used to go to my University classes in my PJ's half the time! Haha! BUT when I go to work I take care of my appearance - because it really does matter. Taking pride in your appearance and dressing well will make you more successful because it shows people you care enough to try. People who don't apparently come off as "lazy" or "unmotivated". (Of course this is not necessarily true at all, but this is how the workplace views it). I have a teaching job, so I tend to dress more in bright colors and will do my make up very light. It may take me 20 minutes or so in the morning to get dressed. I want to appear professional, but at the same time approchable as well because I have many sweet students. But when I go to my retail job, I will reapply my make up and maybe add a bit of eye liner and change my clothes into something more "professional". My retail job tends to be a "wear all black" kind of store and I normally will change my lip color to something a little bit darker (although not too dark like I was going out to a night club or something, lol!) So it takes me more like 30-40 minutes to get ready. I never do much with my hair, ever. Haha. If there was one thing I had to name about my appearance that I like it would be my hair. I just put some Fekkai through it and run, although occasionally I might pull it back to be half up, half down, but I would do that more in my teaching job than in my retail jobs. So really it varies. Chances are, people who spend so much time to get ready to get the newspaper may be really insecure about their appearance. It's not really fair to judge a person based on appearance or how long they take to get ready because every one is different. If a person feels the need to get so dressed up to go to the grocery store or something then that's their business. It may be because of low self esteem but it could also be because they really enjoy putting on make up and getting dressed. Who knows!
