How can I upgrade my wordpress blog?

Hello,guys,I have a free wordpress blog with few posts.If I want to upgrade my blog ,what do I have to do except buying a domain name?Do I have to design the wbsite of my own after buying the domain name?

upgrading your wordpress account what means?such as you want your blog out from wordpress servers?yes you need a hosting...in amny cases there are some hosting plans specialized trasferring your wordpress account into an independent server...as regards template you can change it or still having those one you use on wordpress it is your choice!!
