I have a 12 going on 13 year old with ADHD. He is a good boy. Good grades, baseball, does chores, but when we ask him to do something out of the norm, he talks back or cries. Since he is the oldest, I dont know if this is normal or if this a part of his ADHD. Any suggestions?

I don't have a child that has ADHD, but I think that it is something that is normal with this age where children will backtalk and act up when they are asked to do things that aren't necessarily a part of the norm. The reason for that is that children in these ages are going through a lot of changes both physical and emotional during this period of time and it is something that is very confusing and frustrating to them.

thanks for reassuring me that this is normal. Its a frustation time for us because he is the oldest and his siblings look up to him to be some what of a role model.
