As title suggests i tried to update bios today and after restart i just get a black screen. I have taken out the processor battery or whatever it's called and hopefully it will work tomorrow. But do you guys have any alternatives? Please help if you can

hi slovenc1 I have not got the answer but I personally know a computer programmer who knows about bios upgrades and all' he happens to be out of work except for one day a week. He is my computer whiz son. email him at lonewolf@well.com and tell him his mom sent you to him for some email help. I am sure he would get a charge out of it and he could help you too.

Most new PC's and laptops have some kind of security wen you get on bad flashing BIOS. Try to find what to do in your manufacture site. In my case was a mater of a combination of two keys on my keyboard and an USB key with old bios archive and my BIOS return to previews configuration. I wish you the best !

Thank you for best wishes but i'll buy new pc instead. The new motherboard will have backup bios for sure but my old one doesn't. Things wouldn't even show on monitor, usb wouldn't and didn't work. Only way would be to pull out integrated chip and move it to another identical bord and than back but i'll sell it for parts instead. Have a great day

Taking the battery out will not work because this technique only resets the BIOS to its default settings like password and date, whereas in your case several things have changed. Go to the site below. You will find that different motherboards require different ways. http://www.biosman.com/biosrecovery.html

Thank you for you useful link but it didn't help me unfortunatly. I flashed from windows so the chip couldn't be fixed i'd have to find identical motherboard and get bios out and so on and i decided to buy a new pc instead(had old one for 4 years and it's a real shame i tried upgrading bios). Have a great day
