All this while my laptop can easily detected and connected to any wi-fi available. But this time I can connect my laptop with the hotel wi-fi but i just cannot surf the net. It says that limited connectivity or something like that. How I can solve the problem? Right now I am using my prepaid broadband service. If I can use the free wi-fi I can really save my money :-).

Are you sure that the hotel wifi allows you to connect as you like? I ask this because from the way you described your problem, I think what's happening is that you can access and connect the hotel's wifi. However, your access is limited because the network does not recognise you as an authorised user. That's why you can connect to the Wifi but you can't browse and get a limited connectivity error after that. If you want to use the Wifi you should check with the front desk.

Yeas, I did call the front desk. First, yes I am staying in the hotel and I am not trying to steal the internet line. All this while, I have been using the wi-fi easily. Just that this time I have a problem. The front desk gives me the same password just like before just that I have limited connectivity. Thank God I do have my own broadband hehehe

Oh if that's the case: Start Run CMD (run as administrator if you're on Vista) IPConfig /release all IPConfig Renew That should do it as it'll force your computer to look for a new connection.

Maybe there other configuration you have to do so. Some network do provide proxies you need to set on your web browser. Much better if you should ask the hotel about the proper configurations.
