It was blatantly auto-tuned, Criss is a weak singer, but a very plesant actor to watch. Well, I actually loved it and the context it was used in. The utopia school for Kurt.

Thanks for the response, AliaKane. I am not a fan of Darren though but I love his version! Yes, I agree with you with regard to Kurt :-)

And I think I should say that after listening to the Glee acapella on Youtube (where their vocals are heard more clearly), it's actually not as auto-tuned as I thought it was (just a choir blending in). And, weak as he is, Darren is capable of singing live (and he's pretty funny too) Many criticized the writer's decision to create that utopia school just for being perfect. But I think that is an interesting choice on the director's and writer's part. Blaine takes refuge there. He earns a degree of respect for his mentorship toward Kurt and sympathy. But eventually Kurt is the one to achieve respect (sympathy not absent) because he learns to confront the problem with dignity.

I found it cute, the funny thing is that due to it's popularity the radio stations near me are playing the Katy Perry version more often then last week, but I find the one done by Darren Criss to be more pleasing. It is very popular, even with all the various criticisms it is doing very well.

I did hear it was a record sale of all the Glee songs. It's really very popular but that doesn't surpise me. Glee does have a knack for making hits that people love.

I really enjoyed that rendition. True, Katy Perry isn't the best singer to start with, so it's not that difficult to improve on that, but I think I liked the context the song was used in on the show. Not to mention that it's a very catchy tune!

I love this version better than the original. No offense to Katy Perry fans out there. But this song was so meaningful that it became quite significant in its own way with this new version from Glee.

I like his version of Teenage Dream. He's a good singer, I never thought he was cast in Glee. I first saw him on Youtube about Harry Potter Musical. You must check him out
