I went to see Skyline.. $18 for two tickets, $2 for parking and $13? for a large pop and tub of popcorn.. bad me.. but haven't gone for months it seems and it was wintry looking and raining.. Anyhow, I had typed and deleted a thought that I expected Skyline to be really good or a disaster from the previews before I went.. I think it was one of those movies that had early promise but was extremely dissatisfying.. Special effects went from ok to good to bad by the end of the movie in my opinion. The story line was not believable after about the middle of the movie either at least not by me. I would suggest waiting till this turkey is in the bin at the dollar store. Then hope it is marked two for a dollar. And still try to get change. There were a lot of companies taking credit for the film.. I would be curious which one did the effects at the end that I found less satisfying and comic booky.. I also don't expect an alien structure to look like a concrete floor with black plastic over it either...

Woah...I was more interested in how much money you actually spent then your opinion on the movie. Going to the movies feels like highway robbery these days, it's ridiculous. And to make things worst, you ended up watching a crappy movie. I do feel for you there since I've been in that situation before. Even though I wasn't planning on going to watch Skyline now I'm positive that I won't. The trailers I saw for the movie made it look like some kind of knock-off of Independence Day.

Yes, I have noticed that. And it's not just with Hollywood movies either. They make up for bad acting and story with a lot of CG effects and as you mentioned, huge explosions.

That's exactly what it is, a big fat rip off. Also, have you noticed film makers think if the use more explosives, the can have less story content?

You'd be doing yourself a favor. Lately there doesn't seem to be many movies worth paying for.

Last one I saw was about three weeks ago. I went with my neighbors to see Hereafter. I liked it, even though it was pretty slow moving. Would I go see it again? Probably not, but I didn't mind the money it cost to get in. Now the popcorn and soda????

I couldn't agree with you more. I did think some of the special effects were good. But I was so disappointed. It is money and time I will not get back!

What a disappointment! I usually don't go to movies because of the cost but I was almost willing to try this one because I like Eric Balfour (love him in Haven!). Thanks for saving me the trouble and cost! I am planning to go see the new Harry Potter movie. I finished all the books a few months ago and have only seen one of the movies. I hope it's worth it. I can get tickets for $5 at my credit union and I always sneak in a bottle of water and some munchies.

Well thanks to your opinion. The trailers is really good but I don't trust trailers. The title is a little off for me too.

Don't trust the trailer. This movie is a waste of good explosives and really there is no storyline to redeem.

It looks like it is a good movie, but after reading the reviews from my friend who watched it they highly not recommend this movie, bad visual effects and plotline. I guess their marketing gimmick was promising this will be a good sci fi movie, turn up it just a small budget with cheap storyline movie.

I wish I had checked with a reliable source before wasting my money. Glad to have spared you the same discomfort.
