I am just wondering what makes Filipinos unique when compared with other nationalities. I understand that each nationality has its own unique trait that sets apart from the rest of the world. So I thought of what makes a Filipino unique when compared with others. Although I know that we Filipinos are famous for some of the unique characteristics that we have, what sets us apart? We are known for unity even in times of adversity. Another thing is we are known for being calm and being able to manage life through adversities. Other nationalities are wondering how do we manage life here in the Philippines when we are used to deal with adversities every now and then. There are those natural calamities, crimes, poverty and political issues that have greatly affected the lives of many Filipinos and yet we continue to manage it and live a happy life. At least it appears to them. How about you? What do you are the unique characteristics of Filipinos? What makes you proud of us?

Filipinos for being too hospitable and I consider it as exaggerated is a a very unique traits! hahhaha. If pinoys have a visitor they make sure to accommodate them even knowing they're broke, they try to go to a nearest store and try to "utang"(i love to use this word) We pinoys are very unique in many ways. I can't think or enumerate all of them but in our daily lives I consider our ways of living unique!

We have the same view on the matter cheravs. I find it ridiculously unnecessary for Filipino families to show off sometimes. They would do that even to the extent of borrowing money from others just to show to the visitors that they can accommodate them well. I guess we just to live with that though. Traditions are difficult to change in one snap of the hand.

i like how we filipinos are being so family-oriented persons. i see how filipinos do everything for the sake of their family and how close the "pamilyang pinoy" is to each of its members. other nationalities rarely possess this kind of trait especially kids who aged 18 and above choose to separate house with their parents which is not done by the filipino kids.

I agree with your idea. Filipinos are tend to value family than most of the other nationalities. But on the idea that other nationalities tend to separate from their parents at the age 18, it can be interpreted in two ways. First, that could be an indication that those nationalities tend to be more independent with their parents which I think would be a good trait at the age of 18. We cannot deny the fact that it is also ramphant in Filipino society teenagers who tend to stay with their parents due the fact that they are not able to support themselves at the age where they have to start to earn a living.

what attitude/trait of us Filipinos that i am really proud of is when we do the MANO to our elders. it is where we gently approach and hold the hand of an elder and we bow then either we kiss his or her hand, or we reach our forehead and let it slowly touch our elder's hand, in respect or greeting. Pinoy Ako! :D

Attitudes or characteristics of Filipinos that I am most proud of is firstly, for being hard-working. Believe it or not, most companies, hospitals abroad prefer Filipinos over other nationalities (no offence meant to other nationalities reading this) but they prefer to hire and keep Filipinos because we work hard and we don't sit down until we finish our task or job. I'm not saying all Filipinos are like this, but most of us are. Filipinos impress their employers for being hard working and kind and friendly. With regards to care workers, we care for our clients as if caring for our own kin or our own family. I've worked in a care home and am still working for a care home, people praise Filipinos for how we work and how we love our jobs. We Filipinos stand out of the crowd of employees. :) I'm so happy and proud to be Pinoy! Another trait that Filipinos are well-known for is for being caring and thoughtful, and respectful. We know how to be polite and obedient to our elderly, I hope and pray that the future generations will still inherit and embrace this trait because if I'm not mistaken, we're the only ones who know how to give due respect to our elderly family members by doing the 'mano' gesture and ofcourse including "po" and "opo" to our sentences when we speak to the elderly.
