Fudges are one of the sweets I most love. As I am addicted to it, I only make it once in a while but I always make a big one to take to my daughter´s house for Christmas. For me, fudge and chocolate go together but I have found lately about peanut butter fudge.
Which is your favorite? Why? Do you make them from scratch or you buy them at the super? Share!

Fudge is great in any form. I make a few varieties to have around for the holidays, and they sure don't last long. It's pretty easy to make, depending on the recipe you use. I don't like store-bought fudge, mostly because of all the extra ingredients...like preservatives. It just doesn't take as good!
By the way, when stocking up on chocolate chips for holiday baking, check the ingredient labels. I'm finding that many of the store, or generic brands are actually better than the name brands. Some of the biggest companies are substituting cocoa butter with other, cheaper fats. Also many are using vanillin instead of real vanilla.

Hi catla,
I´d love to read and try one of your chocolate fudge recipes. After a while I start making thew same recipes over and over because I don´t even have to think. But a change would be nice.

I love fudge and have been trying to make it every now and then for years. I've tried different recipes and I cannot get the right consistency. All the recipes were also primarily sugar and that is not a good thing these day with my old teeth. If you have a great recipe for peanut butter and/or chocolate fudge can you pm them to me please...when you have time of course.

I´ll check a chocolate fudge with Splenda later, although I only use that when it´s for my mother (diabetic and 86). As for our old teeth, there´s nothing we can do about it
. I´m older than you and I´m eating a lot less red meat than what I used to, for the same reason. I also brush my teeth more often but it´s no use
Take care!

I have never made fudge before. I don't care too much for fudge. I have tasted it and it's ok but it's just not something I love. I know some people that make fudge every year at Christmas time though. I think they do peanut butter fudge and chocolate and some kind that has marshmallows and nuts or something like that in it too.

I like the chocolate kind. I am not happy with peanuts in general.

I don't make fudge, but if somebody serves it, I will not turn my nose up at eating it.

Hiya margi,
Fudges were my favourite too but I cannot make them here in this Kitchen. Well anyway they prefer Turron you know with Almonds and other nuts in them. Polvorones, Turrones, most all of these are bought and they prefer it that way.
Of course above anything they prefer the chocolate Bars like KitKat, Mars, Bounty, Flake shall I go on?
That is what they like so all the rest takes second place in this House.
You are creative you know.
Me I like all those things except for those Pastas with icing sugar on the top I don´t care much for them but for the rest yes.
