Okay, I have been going on the internet for the past 4 years on a site called Pal talk. I have made friends on there and i even met my wife there. True story I had just got back from a deployment to Iraq and I was tired of going to the clubs and spending all of the money i had just worked so hard to get. So one day i did a search and found pal. I was instantly hooked. I would stay on pal 24/7. I have been going into this one chat room for ever I have made some of my best friends in this room. Like I said I met my wife in the room we have been married for a year and a half. A lot of these people came to our wedding from all around the country. We practically live together we all have out computers on and in this room 24/7. and we are on cam 99% of the time. We have gone through good times and bad together. My question to you is: This day in age is it weird that some of my best friends are online?

I love making friends on the internet :) I belong to a site called My Girl Fund (check out my profile) and I have met so many interesting people there! It's really a lot of fun, you should check it out :)

I actually think it's absolutely ok to make friends online. I mean , sure , some people think that you can't really know a person unless you've met them , but I don't think so. I mean in this day and age people online aren't just usernames in chatrooms, we have youtube, facebook, twitter, all of these social networks where we can actually communicate with people. and I actually think that making friends online in even better, because this way you get to know a person better before you meet them.

I don't think it's weird as long as your online friendships are only a part of your social life. I have friends who I originally met online...some of them have been friends for about 15 years. I used to spend time in chatrooms and made some good friends there, too, because like you I hung out in the same one or two.
