If your laptop doesn't have HDMI port, can you still connect it to HDTV?

So, not all of the laptop has the HDMI port which allows the HDMI cable connected from your laptop to your HDTV. It will easier if both equipment come with the HDMI port to be connected. I found it much difficult if my laptop only has the USB port available. I search around the google, and found this accessory device called "USB to HDMI adapter", and it was quite expensive too. The average price is around $100, or $75 above. Has anyone of you use one before?

Hey kingparker, if you have a best buy or futureshop near your home, you can easily run in and buy a cord that converts dvi / serial port to hdmi. That cord will cost you around 30$
