I think at this stage in his career, Del Piero would be looking to maximize his payoff as he is already nearer to the end of his career. Of course, he would love to remain with Juventus for as long as he possibly can as it is a big club. And then slowly move to slightly weaker clubs towards the finish of his career.
Cheers!

This means that he really loves Juventus, he is not like Kaka, and if he stays at Juventus even with a cut off salary, then it means that he deserves to be called a true Juve legend. I think that del Piero has enough money for him to think about money at this point of his career, so he plays football for pleasure, not for wealth. I am sure that he will always be respected and loved by the supporters of Juve, remember he doesn't left Juve not even when they were relegated. I think nothing bad can be said about him.
Other than Kaka, wo claimed that he loves Milan, but when his salary was cut off, he went away.

If I was Del Piero I would stay out of loyalty as whilst he has been a loyal player for years they in return have looked after him and paid him well. You would hope that after so many years of playing and being paid well the need to make a fortune is no longer an issue so he can honour the club by staying and possibly moving into coaching and management when his playing days do come to an end. To many players end up chasing the money rather than playing because they enjoy it.

Del Piero should stay at Juventus till his retirement. His salary might have decrease now but he should be aware that he is unable to play every single match nowadays. Instead of going to a new club and readjust himself, he should be better serve staying put and continue to contribute to Juventus' cause.
