How can you ear from blogging?

I have heard about adsense but I really did not know how I can earn from it. Can anyone tell me how it works? I have a blog that has existed for almost two years but I never earned anything from adsense. Also, please tell me how I can earn through clickbank.

I'm not sure how it works as I just signed up for it yesterday but evidently you can register your blog with kindle and make some money somehow. I am not sure of all the particulars and it's not even set up yet, they said it takes a couple of days. I am guessing if someone subscribes to your blog using their kndle you get a little money.
