A US$100, in a place where I used to live, is huge. It is enough for to put food on table of a family - wife, two children and me - for a month. If I can make that amount from Internet every month then I can smile. How about you? State your country and share with all what a hundred US dollar a month worth to you!

It is not that too huge an amount when converted to our currency. It is around rm380.00. When everything seems to be expensive here, that amount can't buy much things but ofcourse it is good for paying my internet connection and electricity bill.

RM380 is a lot. I heard that in Malaysia with RM70 you can buy supply of 'ikan' and 'sayur' for a week, and they are enough for a small family..

I think it is possible to stretch RM70 for a week ration for a small family.

I have two kids my husband and now my mom lives with us. We are in Kansas in the US. 100$ would buy food for one week. If I buy very cheap meals for the week I could spend as little as 60$ or $70 but it's hard to do that anymore since there is one more head. I have to make double of everything. Cause most stuff comes in servings of 4. So we end up with lots of leftovers. We go through a sandwich loaf of bread in a day or two. That is a little over a dollar a day right there. We also use a gallon of milk every few days. That is $5 there. Not to mention meat, eggs, vegetables in the winter, because we have a garden in the summer. I have heard it is expensive to live in America. But I wouldn't know because I have never visited anywhere else. Very good discussion Salam1.

I think living expenses in US are quite expensive compared to other countries but it comes with good per hour salary. In country I used to live the average person could only get US$15 per day / 8 hours job per day. But in US you can get that amount in one hour.

Here in Canada, $100 will feet my husband and I for about two weeks. It would be nice if it would go further, but things are more expensive here. $100 USD, and $100 CAD are worth about the same, the way the dollar has been trading lately. My husband was in Russia for a while, and was able to feed a family of four on 100 Roubles, for a few days. 100 Roubles is only worth about $5.

$100 would already pay for a 2 week's worth of groceries here in the philippines for a family of four (two children and two adults). but it will never be enough to pay for other expenses like water and electric bills, school tuition, etc. if a family lives in a big city where the standard cost of living is higher than in the countryside, $100 will certainly not go far.

That amount is equivalent to working part-time in a Mcdonald's or any fast-food chain. It's a considerable amount but not enough. I live in the south east.

a US$100 in our country is already a lot. i live in the philippines where our exchange rate from dollars to peso is high and we can already buy a lot of things from that money. i think i can already go to grocery and buy 1 week food supply for a family of 5 members.

that is what I meant, enough to put food on the table, not to say enough to pay rents and bills too..
