Sunday night they left my grandson w/me while they went to wal-mart. We always go out to play when he comes so out in the dark we went, lol. I saw one star & i ask him if he has ever wished on a star. Well he hadn't so i told him what to say to do that. Before he repeated my words he put his hands together like he was praying. I thought that was soooo sweet. He liked doing it so much when some more stars appeared he had to wish on 2 more. I love being the first to teach him new things. Do u love teaching kids something new?

yes of course, what you need to do is to let your grandson aware of those different culture in the world, just little by little let him know it. The reason is just to prepare him to know how to respect everyone or other people.

Awwwww that's so sweet Jo!! You have a remarkable relationship with your grandson Ryan. You really do! I do love teaching kids new things. When our God kids were young, we taught the boys how to ride a bike and a few other things. They enjoyed it a great deal and so did we. Oh the memories of those times are long gone but they'll be in my heart always. Hopefully we'll get to see all three of them when they come of age. The oldest is now 15, the middle child will be 13 in January and the youngest will be 12 in February. A long time but it'll go by fast, I'm sure.

Ya see, you really are like my dear ol' granny. She teached me so many things when I was very little and that included wishing on stars on a cool dark night. Brings back really sweet memories. I wouldn't be where I am today without the wisdom of my granny. And yeah I teach my kids the very same things my granny taught me. Cheers!

You're such a great teacher who is blessed to have a sweet grandson. These teachings will benefit him and the community he lives him. Such teachings are really an asset! The activities you give him, the laughter you share, and the adorable responses you here will lengthen you life, and make him into a behaved young boy. Before you know it, he will stand over you, and he will be the person to help you. Its all new stages of life, but each part is enjoyable as the rest. Peoples generosity and values towards life reflect how their believers see life. Your grandson is such a good boy, who will cherish memories of doing new things.

That's sweet!! You sound like my mom. When I let my son stay with her she will do things with him or he will say something new to her and she just loves it and she will call me and tell me about it or she will tell me when I pick him up. I like teaching him new things too. And I like it when he learns things and then just does it on his own.

tHANKS FOR RESPONDING. cHIDREN ARE SOOOO PRECIOUS, i CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE CAN MISTREAT THEM. i DON'T SEE MINE AS OFTEN as i'd like. His mother is selfish w/him. I wish she wouldn't be. They are going to have a new baby in may so maybe she'll loosen her hold a little when it gets here. I bet your mom is just like me when it comes to your son. Grands are really special.

That's really sweet. It's nice how you can have that relationship with your grandson. I love teaching my nephew new things too. I don't get to see him that often so its hard to be able to learn new things with him. My sister due to have a baby any day now so I'll have a new niece around. I hope I can teach her new things just like I do with my nephew. I love kids. I can't wait until I have some of my own.

HI dear! I think that is so sweet!Teaching children something new would make them wiser and they will love us more when we do. Yes I do teach my kids new things because that is one good thing of making quality time with them. And by the way your discussion makes me nostalgic as it brings into my mind the lyrics of that old-time favorite. Kindly let me quote the lyrics and please sing with me. Here: "When you wish upon a star Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires Will come to you If your heart is in your dream No request is too extreme When you wish upon a star As dreamers do Fate is kind She brings to those who love The sweet fulfillment of Their secret longing Like a bolt out of the blue Fate steps in and sees you through When you wish upon a star Your dreams come true." Have a lovely day!

I sure do! It doesn’t stop when they get older either; my daughter is almost nine and she looks up to me for advice on so many things! I taught her so many ‘firsts’ from tying her shoe laces to putting on lipstick! Sometimes we get a bit deeper and talk about prayer, visualising goals etc. I love the way her eyes look so interested when I speak and I can see she is taking it all in. It is an honour to have the opportunity to teach a child. We are very fortunate and your little grandson sounds so sweet!

Good Morning Jo! How sweet!! I can just picture Ryan doing that. It must be wonderful to be ble to teach your grandson such wonderful things. As you already know I don't have any grandkids, but I love teaching my kids new things. Now that the last one is a teenager, I don't get to teach them as much new things as when they were little, but now we are in the funny years (more like trying years..lol). I have been trying to teach my daughter how to sew. She has little patience (just like her mother), but we are trying nevertheless.

This is so sweet, Jo! He must be a smart little boy, too. I used to enjoy teaching my neices and nephews new things when they were little. They're all grown now, though, so that was a long time ago. I used to also teach a class of third and fourth graders at church and I always enjoyed teaching and telling them new things, too.

I am so glad you got to have your grandson. That is GREAT!!!! I love cooking with my grandkids. Just don't get to do it as much as I use to. Usually if they are available I have other things I am doing or have to do and can't take the time. One day i had the bread dough raising and they came in and wanted to take over with it. I love doing home made bread with them but it takes such a long time to do. We also make pies. They like rolling the dough. Have a great day Lady!

What a lovely experience you had. When I had the twins we went out every night and sang 'Jesus loves me this I know'. They loved it and then we told the moon and stars night night and sang ' Twinkle, twinkle little star'. I loved it too. They often ask me to sing the songs with them when they call me, so they still remember. This makes me so happy as well. Enjoy him Jo- enjoy him
