Limewire is down and other psp music sharing program. I don't know if i'm gonna be happy with this, but i definitely don't know where would i download my music now. I used limewire eversince, and i find it easy and user friendly interface. We all know it's illegal but it is very beneficial to have it around. I know its a good news to those who work in the music industry. But do you think it would really make a difference? I mean, with all the pirates and hackers all over would it really stop the piracy? Hope to hear your views guys! thanks!

i never heard of this site before nor have i use it... talking about illegal downloading of music on the net, i think lots of people all around the world do it... as long as we didn't use it for profit use and only use it for personal use, i think it should be OK... take care and have a nice day...

Yeah! nice reply lingli_78. It's good to hear an opinion like this. Coming from a third world country, I'd rather used my money in buying stuff for my necessity. And by having a knowledge of how i can get it free so satisfy my personal liesure i am thankful for the pirates! lol! have a great day!

To be honest these industries do it to themselves I mean come on they give free CD's away with newspapers and magazines or even just on there own. Everyone knows they are cheap and easy to make. So if the music industry cut prices to a decent amount a lot more people would buy the original rather then a dodgy copied version.

I agree! But if you think of if, in the future who would wanna be a singer or who would wanna go to the music industry if they would sell music at a very low price. Just a thought! have a great day!

Oh my, that's a bad news. At least some P2p still exists though. Try to find another alternative for limewire, I'm downloading songs now incase all p2p are vanquished. I'm not willing to spend thousands or millions of dollars for music. I'm afraid such thing would happen, but there are blogs and torrent site that are able to offer us pirated stuffs though. Lets just hope there'll be a system for everybody to get music freely.

The demise of limewire brings relief to the music industry. Fact is, illegal sites like this hurt the industry so much including the people around it -- the artists, composers, employees, etc. Yet, it was a winning option for consumers for they got their music for free, but at the cost of violating the rights of another. Piracy is such a huge problem. It is a long shot to just make people stop downloading from these free yet illegal sites. With this situation, the music industry should re-think its selling strategies, encourage people to buy from legal means.

I used to download with limewire but I not now. I am having a storage problem with my pc so i'm trying my hdd to breath.hehhe and also with viruses no matter what careful i'm doing. Limewire is having legal issues right now, maybe the campaign against piracy is becoming stronger. It is also good way that people will try to buy since doing this is stealing already.

I used limewire in the past and liked it alot, untill i realised i was getting ALOT of viruses on my computer! so for a while i started downloading music i found on blogs dedicated to genres i like available to download through direct download sites such as rapidshare, megaupload, 4shared etc as i found these have less viruses. Nowaday i stream most music online mainly through Spotify as it is free, legal and virus free. Alot of people use torrent sites now more than P2P sites like limewire so you should probably check out some torrent sites!

Hello alteringreality, i used to torrentz for download of bigger files such as movies and softwares, lol! I just use limewire for a single song that i like. I want to learn that rapidshare thing, because i heard it most of the time. For now i used to stream music thru grooveshark, but it has bad quality. I'll check this spotify, it looks promising. Thanks for the tip! have a great day!

We used limewire before, even purchased their Limewire Pro. Then we found other better sites and we moved on. A lot of people complained about viruses from limewire but we had already moved out of the site long after it became popular that hackers were attacking the site, so I did not experience that particlar problem. People in our house would usually stop using sites that are too popular to avoid hackers. On the issue of piracy, although I respect the musician's right to their music, I am not really an audiophile, and so I'm not fussy about it. Really, the prices of the CD are still outrageous, and so if I am not that into it, I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Honestly, I think it's just greedy of them to run after "lost profits" because of downloading. The fact that this people are downloading this for free already says that given the choice, they are not going to spend that money on their music. So, even if there are no pirated songs out there, I doubt if this people will still buy their stuff.

We removed limewire from our computer long ago. It brought with it too many viruses. Other than CD sharing among friends there are no other legal options that I know of. We download purchased music from Itunes and make sure it goes on to two to three devices so we don't loose it with a crash or virus on one of them. A Trojan wiped out one of those devices once. I blame the pirating temptation on the hackers and evil people out there who want to destroy property and the ineptness of software providers that can't keep people safe from them.

Don't be for piracy, as you may pay hefty fines if authorities figure out your downloaded content. To make things worse, your Internet sessions are all recorded from the governments facilities. If they need to investigate piracy, it will be in there best interests to look into illegal downloads. Even though these have been spiraling down wards, I think its time for you to subscribe to Itunes or shop at Target for brand name song selections.
