Ok for the past few weeks I keep getting these stupid emails. Emails from facebook friends saying buy this drug, or make alot of money. Then there are those emails that don't say anything, they jsut have a link to click on. I know these are coming from facebook friends because at of all the emails that i am getting, only one set of emails are coming from someone who has my personal email address. These crazy emails are coming from facebook friends who i am only friends with on facebook. I know these people are not all sending me the same kind of emails. Are you getting these crazy emails from your facebook friends???

I am on facebook daily. Haven't had this problem. But I have set up my FB account so I don't receive email alerts. You might try that.

34momma- There have been a few viruses going around Facebook recently, you'll find friends copying/pasting about them in your feeds if you have a few friends. I haven't had anything sent to me but I know other friends have had their security compromised and had it fixed relatively quickly. Just report the emails to Facebook and delete them from your mailbox. Namaste-Anora

I'm on facebook alot but I have not recieved any of these emails. Could be spammers sending them to you. There's alot of them around lately. Watch out for hackers on facebook too, my boyfriends acct just got hacked into and my friends acct did not to long ago. I noticed facebook has been having issues lately but its only bc they been adding new things on for the games people play. Hopefully they resolve their issues soon. It annoys me when facebook doesn't work..

On Facebook whenever you out of inadvertence happen enter a wrong password the error page records your first and last name with your profile picture. Thus it gives you another chance to re-enter your password. You would certainly think that it is a nice and a helpful feature. Now think about it otherwise. Let us assume a hacker is trying to break-in into your account what he would do. He would type his user-name and a wrong password. He gets another chance to re-enter the password, but instead he enters your e-mail address. The system will automatically populate its error records with your first and last name and your profile picture. If you are a Facebook user you have no control over this. This would work even if you have set all the privacy settings right. For a hacker harvesting this sort of data is very easy. He can easily bypass it by using a bunch of proxies. It means that if someone has your e-mail address he can feed it to the Facebook and use it for phishing attack. Those who have discovered it are unsure what to call it. They still do not know it’s a bug, vuln or a feature. Let us hope Facebook would close this loophole soon, but to 500 million Facebook users it still remains a privacy concern.

This is what they called spamming.I had some e-mails coming in lately, and I've reported to Facebook admins about this.If there are no actions,I'm planning to shut down my Facebook.Lots of my friends did so already.

34momma I am on Facebook too but as yet have not gotten any emailstrying to sell something. but I do not facebook. It might have a virus but I have not moticed any odd stuff coming from there to me. take care If it continues notify Facebook managers and see if they will not do something about it as we do not need to be spammed all the time.

That happened to me. A person that I had on my FB friend's list sent me another request for me to add them to my fb friend's list. Me, thinking that the person opened another account, with most of the details and a picture of the person, so accepted her. Then it began, solicitations. I found it strange, and sent a private message to the original person on my list. She did not respond; I guess because she did not know what was going on. I decided and did contact Face Book Administrators with all the details. I guess they closed both accounts down, but then after two weeks, the original person automatically was put back on my account, and that person posted that she had been spammed, but that all was corrected. I firmly believe that in life one does not have to accept the status quo, one can take the necessary steps in investigation, and clarifications. For me, it's the only way to live; after learning at the "University of Hard Knocks!"
