My father was in the War. He was first joined, and then because he had a German name, he changed his name, and enlisted in the Canadian army. I believe he was in the Black WAtch. I think he was in the invasion of Normandy but was starting to get Diabetes then, and was a cook so did not do any fighting. I was born in Scotland and when we went to England to stay with my grandmother, she told me that I had to sleep in a dresser drawer because of all the bombs. I watch all the World War movies, I used to read all of Churchill's books, but I think my brother has them and he is on the coast. I have a magazine book that I collected and ;put in binders called "The History of World War II" And I watch documentaries on how terrible the Nazis and Imperial Japanese were. One of my favorite books was "Three Came Home"and the movie is no where near it. I also read "The Hiding Place." Do not have any of my dad's medals and ribbons, my brother has them. So I am interested in the Second World War. I was born when it was on.

My father's family were German. The immediate family then moved to Brazil, did not like it and then moved to Canada, then back to Moldavia - that is near Rumania and then when my father was older, he went o England where he joined the army and then -well it is very confusing. I have no idea what part of the story is right because since he had to change his name to join the army again, he had to make up a place in Canada where he was born. However, from what my aunt told me, he was really born in Winnipeg, and immediately after that the family went back to Moldavia. They called it a different name back then. They had a farm back there,

I recently watched a movie concerning World War II called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". It was the best one I've ever seen and think all persons should one day watch it. I like war movies, I'm not sure why, except they show me the worst of this human journey, make me have a good cry and reinforces to me the horror of sin..

I have watch it too, the story is very touching. about two boys with different ways, but they can be a friend. they don't know the actually situation that happen. they just want to play as child. I wonder they don't got electricity shock on the fences, while trying to give the jews boys food and the ball.

for me, If I heard something that unique based on WWII I will very curious, and start to search about the fact. for example, when I heard some hitler jugend (hitler youth) under 15 years-old success to immobilize allied tank by their panzerfaust (nazi's bazooka), I wonder how they do that? and for my tentative conclusions, I think panzerfaust is so easily to use, even for child. I got some video that's about some civilian use this bazooka easily, even you don't need to lift the bazooka to your shoulder, but can have great accuracy. see this video : http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a4f_1260843618&c=1
