Red Riding Hood

I'm not sure if you have heard about this, but in the near future there will be a new Red Riding Hood movie, but don't think it's going to be standard fairy tale movie. From the clip that I saw, it's like a cross of The Village, Twilight and The brothers Grim fairy tales (the old style tales that are a bit more gory than the Disney style). It stars Amanda Seyfried as Red Riding Hood, a young woman involved in a love triangle. Instead of stalking wolf, she has to be fearful of an attacking werewolf. For me, the verdict is still out about the movie. It seems like an interesting version of a classic tale, but I am kind of fed-up with the current obsession of vampires and werewolves (especially the recent versions who are bit more melodramatic and emo). Oh, she's a blond actress who's slowly making her way up into Hollywood. She's been in Mean Girls, Mamma Mia, Dear John and Letters to Juliet.

I think I'm going to watch it.. I've always wanted to see Disney movies in a more mature and gothic. And I love Amanda Seyfried, the brother's Grimm and also vampires/werewolves. Based from the teaser trailer I think it's going to be really good.

Yes I love everything about it except for the director [I didn't really find twilight as a good movie].. But I hope this movie not only reaches my expectation but exceeds it..

This twist to the Red Riding Hood tale has been done million times already so it's nothing new. It looks kind of pretty, but it seems too much like Twilight for my tastes. I mean, I love Amanda Seyfried, and the concept is interesting, but... it seems like too much melodrama for me.

It does seem very melodramatic. I'm still undecided because I like the whole gothic aspect and the twist of a classic tale, but I'm not a Twilight fan.

I have seen that movie trailer once but base from what I've seen it is more like a suspense movie. It's kinda exciting to know what was the real twist behind that movie since they have made some changes from it's original version.

It does look suspenseful with twists and turns. Could be a good thriller if it was done right.
