I told myself i have to be extra thrifty. Well, did I manage that budget as expected? Oh yes, I am very much impressed this week that I did! It is the end of work for the week, and I have even an extra from my budget, now i know what is the prize of saving! Now I am trying to save every peso that I have... I am very careful now in using my money for buying something, I see to it that, that thing is really useful and a need. How about you there friends and Lotters, when did start being so careful in using your money? Or when had become a thrifty person?

My mother taught us to be thrifty so i'm used to be satisfied of what I have most of the time. We should always be aware of our needs and want because most of the time people gets broke due to buying all this stuff because they want it not because they need it. I always see people putting their stuff in the garage or just in the corner some useful things, so if they are just thrifty they might end up saving more money than wasting some stuff in the corner.

You are very right my friend, we should know what are those things we really need, if we think of buying things, we should not rush, we need to take enough time weighing if that would worth the money we are going to allocate for that. There are things that seem to be important, then later we realize they really are NOT, so like you said, we end up putting them in the corner, in this time, we should be really smart and wise in giving up our money for something. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting:-)

I have been a practical spender since grade school. My parents were really impressed with how I handle money at such young age. They even borrow money from during those days (well, not that much though). Until now, I have my own family and kids, I usually prioritize first all of our needs before spending on the "wants". Although sometimes I splurge on things for my kids especially if we bring them to malls but I see to it that we only spend within our means and still save for the rainy days.

Hi there, thrifty means to me a wise, and practical way of spending hard money in a valuable and necessary things in your present situation. Why I said that? Because most of us spending money to purchase something un-necessary today that you can use it later.. (not good). Be resourceful and wisely of spending like purchasing too high prices of CP (like ipod, kindle and other gadget) which your purpose only is to have communicate with your family for example... Purchasing lucurious things (like watch, sunglass and others) for yourself (for the purpose of fashion).... be wise... see you around

Thank you so much for a very wonderful idea my friend, oh yes that is true, sometimes we are very frugal, we never look into things which we really need. It is very hard to get money, yet, spending is so easy. People should learn how to separate needs from wants. I am starting it here my friend, and let see a year from now what i will get from being thrifty. Have a blessed Sunday! Happy mylotting.

hi, I started being thrifty from thirty(age) onwards by that I suffered huge losses and went bankrupt. So it is good that you have become wise early and Saving is one great quality every one should accumulate to prevent future unforeseen financial disasters. I dint had this type of mindset when I was in 20s till I had a big financial disaster, even after 5 years I still couldn't come back to normal and struggling. But I am very sure I will come back soon to life, since i have a better view regarding money now. Good Luck to you Calpro

I am sure you will succeed again my friend... At least now you came to a good realization. You know, i realized that buying lot of things just make us become not contented, and we will ask for more, making us unhappy if we fail to get something we want in the next time! When i was in college, i tried most of the times to get the things i want, and that resulted to no good! And now i come to a realization, i just secure the things i need not i want, at least from it, i had this nice idea, that wants should be define apart from needs. Blessed Sunday!:-)

I worry about money when I need to. That is, I have learned to live with a small budget after I became a widow. It became smaller when I retired. Still I wanted to live well so I devised a way of doing it. I like to travel so I stopped smoking (I had been smoking for around 50 years). I save every penny I can, use all leftovers and nothing is lost at home.

Very inspiring my friend, and yes, if we wanted things to happen, we always can and you have shown a very nice example. The fact is there is a way for everything, we just have to struggle first. Then if we are really determined, then the time we spent become worth while, just like what you and I did, this one thing, this smoking thing, when I left smoking, I found that I had save, and I must continue doing this thing, because I found myself happy and more secured. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-)

hello bro, That's good for you at least you know how to value every cents that you've earned. I started being thrifty and implemented cost cutting in my budget when my bank account was hacked (i lost a not so big amount of money uh uh...) After that bad experienced i started thinking that,i need to cut our expenses. At first it was a bit hard since i was used to our monthly expenses like spending this amount of XXXXX. Gradually i learned to lists the least priority not to include in our monthly expenses. Now it's a great help,i was able to cut our expenses to 20% per month, from our electric bills to water bills. Have a great weekend dear bro

Did the bank helped sort out the problems Sis? I hope they do. I started thinking about this thing when i see the situation of most colleagues of mine at work. After payday they would complain that their salary was not enough, and they do most cash advances the next day to cater families' need... I am sad, and that i am thinking of a better solution, even if someone is earning big, if he doesn't know how to save, then his family would still face financial problem, and me here, as early as now, i have to learned to spend money wisely. Thank you so much for sharing Sis jai.

yes,the bank helped me but it was a good hacked, the money was withdrawn successfully. If it's bank fault, like, deducting the money from my savings by accident or machine error, the bank can put it back. But since it was successfully withdrawn,it was clearly hacked and the bank can't do anything about it. I really cried,it's not a small amount. The bank manager suggested that i should use a passbook instead of ATM,so i follow the instruction, and open an ATM account for my daughter and put a small amount for emergency cases. So be careful when using your ATM's.

I used to be very careless with my money. Buying things that I do not need. But nowadays, I set myself a budget and I try to spend within it. While I means I could not buy things which I fancy, but it means I have more cash in hand. This is something which I prefer now.

I am very happy to know that my friend, you know, it is really good to save and be ready all the time, and yes, if we are more practical on money, it doesn't that our life would just revolve in it... As one response above said, it is never an erroneous act to save, who will save for us then? As long as we know that what we are saving now is for good, thank you for sharing my friend and happy mylotting.:-)

Being thrifty isn't a bad thing. People all over the world like to save their money when buying household items. For a box of cereal, there are people who skip buying brand name and opt for buying store name or generic versions of the cereal. Over time such savings of 50 cents spread across for many purchase adds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. My friend, what you are doing is wise, as you will never regret the money that will still be in your account because of it.

Have a blessed Sunday my friend.:-)

There is nothing erroneous with being concerned about your financial futures and doing everything you can to save money. If you don't look out for yourselves, who will? Be thrifty! Save every penny you can! You will be delighted you did!

Thank you so much, that is right, if i am not going to look after me, who will? From now, we should allocate something for the future, it is a very good idea to be ready... We don't know what will up to next, so the best thing is to be always ready of what will be lying ahead. Have a blessed Sunday.:-)
