Hello Sohnikhan, I am using the gmail since 2005 without any problem. Its really safe and secure. I think your password has been hacked. Are you using a personal system or any shared one like in Cyber cafe. My personal suggestion is not to download any unknown materials send by any unknown persons.

sohnikhan, In the first place, web based email accounts liken to your Gmail are very safe and compromises of security confidentiality are mostly due to our carelessness. 98% of the time, no one will ever know your user name or confidential passwords unless you have carelessly given them away. Starting with an infected computer which either does not have an anti virus program installed or the program is not up to date with the latest upgrades or updates. Such computer will just be another casualty for anyone that uses it and at the end of the day you will only loose more than you anticipate when hackers get a hold of your online bank account and credit card details. The next flaw, I can think of is one where you access your mails in public computers like the library, school or cybercafes where you do not pay attention to details like opting to be continually signed on - which is a feature for your own private computer only. This is a common mistake and with your personal login details being "remembered" in the computer - everything will be open book for the next user. And on the second point, it could also happen with your own computer where you do not log out when you are no longer accessing your email or computer and your friend just came by and start using your computer. This is as good as leaving your ATM card lying on the table with the PIN number written on it. You are just giving others opportunity to access your personal belongings. FYI, there was a recent study where it revealed that most of the time account hackers are actually close friends or friends who happen to use their friend's personal computer. So in all fairness, I hope that you will check on yourself and find out just where you might have faulted which led to your account being accessed by others. Only when you are safe, then will your personal belongings be safe from wandering hands. Take care.

Earlier the Gmail was not safe and secure. But now they have much improved the security system. So you can use Gmail for your emailing purpose. I think Gmail is the best email for POP and IMAP access than other free email service providers. The only draw back is Gmail email account space. They have to set it as Unlimited space. Thank you
