I see this chat application and almost 20 friends online always. I have over 250 friends and it is a good number for that. I chat with friends in US as cant see them frequently. I enjoy a lot and of course time moves on friends. I love facebook more than orkut these days. I saw social network movie and it is was a good one too. As said to make this application he requires to follow lots of rules apart from making the application as it is a social network. With chat application it is good that we are able to share links also. This rocks and it is nice that we are able to see all the profiles from the chat itself and see what is happening also. Share your thoughts on the same.

I have 410 friends in FB but I seldom chat with them. Matter of fact, I set my chat status in offline mode. It is not that I do not want to talk to them but sometimes I'm not jst in the mood talking about things repeatedly... And or sometimes I'm not in the mood for a little chit chat. I f I really wanted to chat, I'd rather use my YM. There I have really close friends that I want to talk to sometimes.:)

Yes, I also set my chat status in offline mode automatically, so I always seem offline to my friends, even if I am online.

I rarely go on face book nowadays as i think that it is getting too boring and i find that there are people that only go on there to stir up alot of trouble.I feel like if i have to go on there to leave a message for a friend,it is easier than going on the chat bit as there are loads of people that want to chat at the same time.

I don't use the chat feature that often, but when I do it is nice. I'm sad that they took away the times in the corner of all the chats and the names too. They changed it to faces of you and the other person. It's great for talking to old grade school friends. I still use AIM (mostly through meebo) and gchat too.

No, I disabled the chat function on my Face Book page many months ago. Not because I'm unfriendly; I have a lot of FB friends and love having them. No, I get nervous if someone asks me to chat who I don't know very well; or haven't seen for ages; and fear I'll offend. I like to visit FB and just take a look around quietly at my leisure; not to chat. But I am very very flattered whenever a friend DOES want to chat. I'm just not open to it right now; I don't eman to be mean; far from it; I'm just a shy sort of individual.

I do chat in facebook nearly everytime i go on it.... which to be honest isn't quite as much as i used to go on it. I do like the chat feature... but it does have quite alot of errors some days and not even available others so its not very reliable. Its good to have on their though because i think its the main reason most people join it.

Regarding your topic title, I don't get to chat that frequently in facebook. I often get to just play games, reply to comments and answer to messages in case someone indeed sent me a message there in facebook instead of sending it through email, perhaps they don't know my email. Chatting is quite good as we get to talk to them even when they are far from us. I get to chat with a colleague of mine before who is now working at a different companies. The chat feature of facebook is quite an advantage.

Hi, I do believe Facebook is like a Hot cake...everyone is using this website and it same goes to me. I am addicted to facebook and a day without facebook, I feel uneasy. I do use the chat function provided in facebook, pretty useful. and I can chat with lot of my friends while they are all online. But one thing, I won't never touch the facebook games. I am not a game lover.

No, because I don't like this chat, I always have problems when I try to use it to be honest. It gets stuck, or it sends my messages twice, and so on. So I prefer to use other methods when I want to chat. Chatting itself is great, I agree, but the Facebook chat does seem to have some bugs for some reason.

Bhaiya, I always use face book to write on people's walls. There is no time for me to chat with other people. The times I've done that, it feels like I'm wasting my time talking about weird stuff. However, there has been a major influx in chatting from school kids, and I think Facebook is one major chatting tool. Friendships are great, but when you need to study or excel in life, Facebook won't help you to achieve those goals. Such time spent chatting is most probably leads to procrastination.

I used to chat in facebook if I catch any member of my family or friends who I haven't talked to for awhile. Nowadays I don't because I play more games on facebook than chat. :) But I still chat with them through yahoo messenger or skype from time to time.
