Why it was claimed that Olive Oil is good for our health? I really don't understand what's the difference between monosaturated fats into saturated fats. It is advisable to take olive oil everyday?
How does it stack up against other oils?

Well, too much of anything is rarely good, but I think it has been proven over and over again that as far as oils go, olive oil is indeed the best one. So it is healthier than other oils, but that does not mean you should go crazy with it, of course.

Hi playingideas65,
Well, this is my second time responding to discussions regarding olive oil.First, the difference between saturated and monosaturated fats is the arrangement of lipid contents.Monosaturated fats are readily metabolized than saturated fats. But in terms of oil,we refer fats as lipoproteins. There are two types basically, high density lipoproteins(HDL) and low density lipoproteins(LDL).HDL is the good one while LDL,the bad one.Olive oil is rich in HDL,so,it's good. Both are essential in transporting cholestrols, and HDL is a great transporter compared to LDL,which ends up suspending on your blood vessels or tissues.I'm not trying to get too scientific here, because I'm afraid that you will go all the way puzzled.About the consumption of olive oil,I took two teaspoons daily, morning and night.
Cheers.
