I regularly use debit cards for my transcations. I usually donot use credit card. By using credit card we are under control, but in the case of credit cards, we are in the danger of becoming debt. But of course credit card is useful in the time of emergency ( when we have no funds). But one should have mind control for not to overspend in credit cards. I think that the persons who have no mind control should use only debit cards and not credit cards. what do u think about this?

I too only use my debt card. If I use a credit card it is to buy online purchases only. However, then I pay it off even before I get the bill. This is the first Christmas in years that I will be going into the new year credit card debt free. It is a wonderful feelings. There really should be a law that people were only allowed one credit card with $5,000 credit limit to avoid extreme credit card debt. I truly believe credit cards should never had been started in the first place. If you don't have a the money then you can't buy. The world would then not be in the financial mess its in.

Well, I think you've got to have mind control, or I'll call it will power, in either case. I use my debit card almost everywhere. I like the fact that I can use it in place of writing a check plus it's faster than a check. But, you still need will power when using a debit card. True, using a credit card creates debt because you are "spending money you don't have" and therefore must pay the bill later. That's not too bad if you can pay the bill in full when it comes due. But, when you use the credit card over and over before the first bill comes due it's easy to accumulate a long-term debt. And I've done that more than once, so I know what I'm talking about. But, when you have no will power a debit card can be just as bad. It's really no different than someone who can't control their spending when paying with cash. It may not put you in debt but you'll find that you are broke in a hurry.
