Working Parents (Both)- Is it good for Growing child in the family or bad?

Now people, this is a common problem especially in Developing countries like India where in almost families both father and mother of the family (especially middle classed) are working people due to various reason like to get recognized and wealthy in the society real fast, to live comfortable life like owning a house, car, etc , to meet the current world economic demands and to save for the future of the family. Now-a-days offices are becoming more tight with working hours from morning 9am (sometimes u hav to leave home 7:30 in morning for the transportation) and back home in evening by 7pm atleast (for ladies) and from 8am to 9am till evening 8pm to 9pm (12hr concept) for men. By this the child does not get more care from the family that too from mother especially.
The child leaves home is morning by 8:30am is back home from school before 4pm and till 7Pm she has to be alone were she has no one to be taken care of with things like food and education. The only possible companion of her is her toys and TV. By this she is not be taken good personal care during her growing ages.
Because of the luxury living ideas by the family, the child does't get enough care and affection from its parents.
What would be the ideas to come over this? Should mother be at home till the child get grown till it get good knowledge about the world and can take over the challenges individually? or is it up to the child? Or any other ideas?
(I am taking about child from age of 5 to 12yrs, so nothing to taking about baby sitters or nursery schools)

Leaving a child alone i totally bad and wrong. the child should be cared by sombody else. the care for person can be relative or friend. My mother was a working lady. I was brought up my grand mother and aunt. I was so lucky to get pleanty of love by them. Now I am a child care giver. the child whom I care for is 9 years old. He has no mother. He consider me a his mother. He behave like my own child. But I am paid for my job.

The condition makes mother has to work. In another countries, like Indonesia, usually there is a family help parents worker to keep their children. It could be grand parents or other family, if they don't have activities. But if there is no family at all that can help them, they can look for baby sitter. Of course, mother still have to have in touch with their children after work and on holidays.

for me, it is not really bad as long as everyday they should have time for their children.. because children needs parents attention in order to grow well as human... though they are really tired because of their works... at least they should have 3-5 hours a day for their child....
