I used to be quite active on this site under a different account. Some time ago I canceled my original account here mainly because this site got tired and old so I left. When I first joined this site it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it a lot but that didn't last. First many very interesting people left this site or stopped participating because of flame wars, stalkers and trolls. But that wasn't the only thing that made this site go downhill. The other thing was all the people who started taking this site way to seriously. Its mylot. Its not life and death. Its not your job. Its not anything of any real importance or that should be on the top of anyone's priority list, its just mylot. So why did several people start taking this site so seriously? I am talking about all the self imposed rule enforcers. The people who respond to discussions to tell someone that they should not have posted that referral link due its violation of the guidelines and the people who post discussions with the primary purpose of explaining some mylot rule or guideline. I don't break the rules. I just want to know why some people take mylot so seriously that they spend much of their time here yaking about the rules and pointing it out to people when they break them? True people are not supposed to post referral links, but if someone does, that is their business, their discussion or response will just get deleted anyway, and that is their problem, why do you care? Everyone is capable of reading the rules and guidelines and tos for themselves, and if they don't, that is their business. If their accounts get suspended or canceled, that is their problem too. So what if people posts referral links, direct people to their profiles or post repeat discussions. All of these things are the business and problems of the ones doing that, and no one else. It gets tired and old seeing so many self imposed rule enforcers chastise people for these things so often. It makes this site no fun as it becomes just people telling other people what they should or should not do. And anyway, its only mylot, not your life! Why do you self imposed rule enforcers, and you all know who you are, take this site so seriously? Do you take everything that seriously? Perhaps you need to lighten up

Sometimes rules should be imposed because people tend to do things that could harm others for self gain. Others maybe take this site so seriously because they wanted to keep this site alive. I post here at mylot for fun, if I wanted to express myself or if I have something to say or share. I don't take everything seriously but I also don't take everything as a joke.

I would have to agree with you to a certain extent. I agree with you that mylot is just mylot and if we make this site seriously we will all end up getting bored with it, if that's the case, it would beat the very main purpose of what mylot truly means, a place to relax and have fun while discussing anything under the sun. However I don't see anything wrong with the people trying to help newbies by pointing out violations. It is on how they point out the violations that makes the difference. There's always a way to say things in a nice manner and without offense. People who've been around in this site for a long time tend to have a deeper connection with this site and make it their own. That makes them protective of it. The rules of this site exist for a purpose and it is the responsibility of all members, be it a newbie or a veteran to follow those. There's nothing wrong on occasional reminders that some rules were violated so the erring person will know better next time. There are members who do that because they care for the site and they care care for the newbie while getting nothing in return since the post will just be deleted anyway.

Hi dear, I am also not so old here but find a better time pass here. After all, you are much bothered about the rules and regulations. When we look upon the view of the company, it is their mandate to have certain by-laws to implement the site and run them with its own guidelines and motivations. The company must have some rules which is a mandate because it is running internationally and they expect certain discipline within the plans. Also, when the site is prepared, there are certain inbuilt set of understanding and way forward with their ultimate aim of the site. We know there are millions of such sites and all of them have their own discipline and guidelines. It is a common factor in front of law, and they need to maintain it. Also, the participants are also from all over the world and the subject matter here discussed can be any and the responses also can be of variety in nature. It is necessary that any of the comments or responses should not hurt so badly to any one and it should not question the set of faith and such so many things. Because it can lead more problems in later stage. Again, regarding the links – this is a company running with their motivation and people to participate. So, if you upload a link and people make use if and it may reduce the usage of myLot. Of course, from the company’s point of you, they don’t want anyone to make propaganda for some other companies. They will de-motivate the trend. Few people are so conscious about warning about the rule violation. It is a fact that many people are not so familiar with the rules. Most of them are not even referred fully, because all know that there may be some written principles for each and every web sites. So there is nothing new in it. But those who are aware of it, and while going through the subject matter, they will get alert of the same and some time they will highlight the same. Even so many others have indicated on certain things that your query or comment may get deleted due to so and so reasons. But it didn’t happened. Also, I have noticed that the extremes on various subject are not happening here. Even though the topics are covered everything, it is not moving beyond a certain limit. As this is a common for all people, having a decency in all things are always advisable. Some people may like to stick on it. However, I think for the company, they many not bother who is coming in and goes out. They have more people with them. Many stops working at the same time, many comes in. As this is a daily process an average user rate will maintain throughout the time. But, please believe that I am favouring to anybody or anything. I just commented in general and as a trend around. Many things are happening may be because of such reasons and based on by experience so far here. However, hope to see you back here and think you will be here for some time with all of us. Apart from all of these, I think many of the people here are really making hard work to earn some extra money, which I really experienced from some of the friends here. As you know that all peoples background are not the same, for a few people, it myLot may be a blessing because they even make the payments too, not like many other sites. Regards, Thank-s

myLot is simply a hobby for me and one that currently I am still enjoying. I certainly understand the strict rules as that is what keeps the site sustainable for us for free. When members break the rules many times I will apply my advice simply to help the member as so many are really not aware that they are breaking the rules. If a member gets upset about being assisted I have no problem with that or any member getting upset for any matter as I have enough going on in my life and no member on myLot or any net platform that will get the best of me. It is not going to happen as I choose to log on and not forced in any way. I would never chastise a member by no means I find that I have been more helpful if anything. When members are rude and or mean intentionally I simply take as their is their character and not take it personal as truly no one will change my character in any way on the net. I have a life therefore I live it to the fullest and allowing anyone offline and online to change it will never happen. Hope you find myLot the second time around a bit more like a hobby and a place where you too can simply be you. All others with problems simply pass it as that members with issues.

I guess the little narcs don't bother me as long as they aren't rude. Go ahead, vote me down, flag me, tell me that I dun goofed. I don't care at all as long as they don't get personal. On the other hand, I am bailing on this site as soon as my $10 rolls in. I am just in it for the money. I did meet some cool people here though...maybe I will stay. It's funny though, isn't it bad if you post on a discussion that gets deleted? hmmm...

Hi Wink30, I am a newbie, as you can see from my number of posts. Today is the first day I have made a real effort to look around the site and post. Most of the posts I have read have been questions about how to use mylot, because I'm feeling a little lost. The guidelines are great and the FAQs answered a lot of my questions, but it's nice to hear from the people using the site too. Perhaps because I'm new, I haven't had time to break the rules and have people point that out to me, but I know, in my case anyway, that I would appreciate any direction from other users here to help me get the best experience I can from mylot. I appreciate gentle guidance and constructive criticism from those in the know. Maybe this isn't what you are describing as going on here, but this is just my two cents from someone trying to find their way around mylot. Thanks

I agree with this, I know some people don't read the rules, but pointing them out just for the sake of pointing them out as response should not be the case. There's always a nice way to say it. I quit myLot myself but did not delete my account so, I just lost all earnings but I still have my account. We should care enough to keep this site fun. Mods and Admins will always delete posts and discussions that are against the rules. We should care about the rules but we don't need to ram it down the throat of every newbie or even older members that make mistakes. Pointing out mistakes if necessary should be made politely and with the intention to help rather than showing you know more than the others. But just enjoy the site. Let the jerks be jerks and just don't mind them. Enjoy the good company you find!

yes i understand what you mean^^ about me i never say any about the rules i just let people do things as they want. sometimes they make mistakes by accident and some people start to talk rude and i dont really like that. we should respect others and let the admins do their job then. we are not admins here to start to say something to the users we need to respect others. i dont rate nagative no one also. that for me is just mean to rate someone negative unless that person was really very bad to me.
