Do you return things you have borrowed to the right person?

Last night, a co renter borrow me 200, i just gave him the 500 because that is all i got, i mean the 500 bill. So i expected he would give me back the change, but see, he told me he gave it to my roomate!! How freaking good is that?? I could not really sleep thinking of this, i am waiting for this roomate to give me back the 300, he just said yes but did nothing and now leave for something! I am not greedy, but they suppose to return things or something to the right person. See? I am really trying to save now, and what they did? I am even hesitant to share this to my B, or i will receive some nice sweet whips in the butt, now, what should i do? I mean the right one..

Psssttt ... Prime, I think that if you are trying to keep things from Saphy, then it is probably not the best decision in the world to post them as a topic for discussion on myLot ... I'm just saying ...

LOL! I saw. In fact, I expected her to make a pitstop in my response box, but I guess that she is just too busy these days to stop and smell the beautiful purple flowers.

remind that person that you have something in his position. maybe he's too rush that forgotten to give to you. tell that person you will use the money to buy something and you don't have money already in your pocket. don't get easy on him. if needed, remind him every minute until he feel annoyed and return to you your money.

okay, here what happened today when I am about to go to work, he put the money under my bed, on the floor without telling me, I don't know if that is my money but as it is on the same amount, I keep it!

Just think that probably, you were not around when it was his time to return it. That's why it was put under your bed to see it. Good thing that he returned it. Have a nice day!

that's a good news! maybe the time he's about to give you, you're still sleeping that's why he decided to put under your bed. or maybe he's one of the mylot member and he read your posting and he feel shameful, so instead of hand over personally to you, he choose to put under your bed. hehehe. but better you ask him when he will be back home if the money you found is the money he supposed to give you for clarification purposes. just play safe. :)

gah!..you shouldn't wait for your roomate to give the '300' back to you!.. ask for it for God sake!..they don't have the right to hold that 300 from you.. There is nothing wrong at all to ask for it back..for it is yours.

Yes i got it. And, if i have just the best choice, i will get a single for me to avoid hassle, but well, i guess i am just being more than practical for staying this place, as i am previlege to pay only for light and water each month, because this is a property of the company where i sit the whole day working. Thank you and happy mylotting:-);-)

WE never know what's the reason for borrowing from you and never give the change personally as well. There might be a need for urgency that occupied his time and was not able to talk to you. But to let him know that you didn't expect him doing that, better ask him why he borrowed money and if that you found beside your bed is from him. On your part to clarify things, and if he is sensible enough, he might feel that you expect him to give it back personally.

For your question in your title, I say YES. I RETURN THINGS THAT I BORROWED TO THE RIGHT PERSON. I suggest that you should be assertive. Confront the persons involved in this issue in a rightful and calm approach so the conflict won't be bigger. ;) Talk to them.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to remember this person that he/she borrowed this from you. Maybe this person simply forgot and just needs reminding. If this is the first time that this person has done this, then just nicely reminding him/her is the way to go this time.

We need to return the things that we borrowed because it is his right to get it and ask from you. The borrower is just pleading to him for some reason and he granted the request so in return try bring him back the change. For me i did return to the right person and as long as i can to the proper place if it is a thing. If money well i try to promise to return at the right time f ever not to do it then i'l pay the interest. But in a first place f this is personal be it done according to what transactions you had. Involve this is a word of honor.

You are right there, i guess the nice lesson here is that, when someone borrows anything, he must see to it that he can return it personally to right persom whom he owe the things to return, that is a simple manner, and he cant do that, i dont think so he can borrow again by the same person! Have a blessed evening and happy mylotting.:-):-)

I don´t lend money unless it is someone I love so much that I don´t care if she returns it or not. But this is wholly irresponsible of the person you lent money, no matter who it is. You don´t lend money ( or return it) through someone else I hope you get your money back.

I have it since last morning., okay i am trying to forget the damn feeling but i guess i would be something different the next time. I must not lend money anymore, there are some people who are irresponsible, or something, as in really. I was trying to hold my temper last night, people must suppose to return things in the right time and place. Thank you for this my friend, happy mylotting always.:-):-)

hello bro, Now you really knew the worth of every cents huh (from stop smoking) And a 300 pesos is not a small amount,it can sustain an average family's daily expenses. It did happen to me many times, not only with money but also with things. One neighbor borrowed a hammer and when i need it,says he already returned it to one of my kids, but when i asked my kids,no one claims to be the receiver.(always happens) One neighbor borrow a screw driver and same thing happened and i really hate it,when i need those tools and found it missing. So,what i did is,put a padlock in our tools cabinet so that my kids won't be able to let anyone borrow any tools (ugh! you can call me selfish, but i am buying those tools hehehe) Well, that's one traits that we must/should eliminate in our system (Filipinos) Borrowing and not returning it back to the right person...worst is,borrowing without returning Have a good day dear bro

Would you believe sis that i was not able to spend any single cent last sunday, and my 20o pesos for fare has 6o pesos left in my pocket now? See? Believe it or not Sis jai, is that good? Hahaha, i like this saving thing sis jai, and somehow i could not imagine doing this, but here i am living a world where coin savers are on every corners! And cents are very important to me now. I am even trying to construct centsNdollars site now, hehehe. Oh sis, you are not selfish. You are just being wise and careful with your things.. Putting value to every little things we have make those last a lifetime. Have a blessed weekend sis.:-):-)

wow,the little kid still within you. so the saying goes " men will always be boys" and here my bro, starts with his piggy bank (do you have any in your room right now? hehe) that's really good my dear brother, see how much you are earning in a day. Sunday or weekends are my expensive days,my kids usually asks for a stroll,or night hang out with me. not too expensive,we just roam around, eat somewhere and have nice bonding moments together.(like buddies) with borrowing things,i really hate it when my things are lost. i really value every small things that i owned (i'm kind of a very organized person esp when it comes to my belongings) hope you had a wonderful weekend dear bro (without spending a cents hehehe)

I make sure that when I return things, I return the items to the right person. I do not leave stuffs to anyone not even his friends or colleagues but to the person itself. He deserves that respect and I do not want others to return my things to others as well. They borrowed it from me, they MUST return it TO ME, not to my friends, not to my colleagues but to ME. otherwise, they should have borrowed things from them not from me.
• Philippines

Perfect answer my friend. I like that. Yes, they must return it right whom they borrowed the things. You know, you got my BR... Happy mylotting, see you more.:-):-)

What i want is simple though, personally return to me the things or whatever you borrow from me. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-):-)

prime you have to be honest with B as she will find out anywayt. You did not use my motto, neither a borrower or lender be. it just cause more problems. Keep after that co renter and your roommate as that three hundred was not meant to be loaned, do not let them get away with it but be honest with b. please my friend.

"neither a borrower or lender be." nice motto my friend hatley, thank you. He returned it not informing, by just putting under my bed last night or morning and he used to hang out the who night or something. For me it is not good as we are 3 in the room, i dont know if i could still get it when the other one was up first, sad thing my friend. Oh yes, i am always honest to her, as in transparent. Happy mylotting:-):-)

It is the duty and responsibility of the person who borrowed the money to return directly to you. Not a family member, friend and or room mate. You should get it the same way you gave it to them. I know the court system here would hold him responsible for you not getting it. The court would say he as to fork over it again to you and then if he wants to sue the roommate is is free to do so. The reason they do this is because the agreement was between you and him not the roommate so it is treated like a contract.

Very informative idea my friend thank you so much. Well, i get the money now, but i got it under my bed, i just dont like the idea that i gave the money right on his hands, and i would just get the change under my bed... Well, each day experiences best taught us something. Happy mylotting my friend.:-);-)

Ask that person the money he borrowed from you. He is the one greedy, it's not you. Once you've got your money back, you should never let him borrow money from you again. I've experience things like that before and it has really pissed me off. So even today, I don't let anyone borrow money from me, but only those I know that are trustworthy. Beat him! LOL. Just kidding. :)

I was really pissed last night i am just trying to control myself. My point is, if you borrow, return it to the person you have borrowed, dont and never let that person wait... Am i right? I am not really into trying to know if he is going to pay, what i want is that they must have this idea of gratitude. Thank you for sharing my friend and always enjoy mylotting, see you the next time around..:-)

I bealive that it is up the the indivdual to decide about who is right and who is wrong. YES ,persnaly if i borrow something from someone, i feel like it is my responsibility to return it to that person, in this case the RIGHT PERSON... because when i borrow something, i am taking full responsibillty of getting what i borrwed to the right owner.

You have a very nice attitude my friend, keep that up. Oh yes, it is really advisable that when you borrow things, whatever it is, return it to the owner, not to his officemate, roomates, or anyone else. Happy mylotting.
